Not leveling up fast enough in PvP. I love PvP, but I should be a vet 4-5 right now, but since I played PvP since level 10 I'm only level 49 now. While others that chose to grind are vet 3-5 now

My wife and I cooperatively played together (when not forced into solo instances) all the way to defeating Molag Bal.

Then, Sir Pot-on-Head invited us to start all over from scratch as nobodies, working for the factions we'd just spent all that time fighting.

Seemed anti-climatic to both of us, and my wife just stopped playing altogether. I mean, we just beat the major baddie, and then you are offered the silver quest?

    Really?

    Stupid design.

Anyway, I'm still playing alts from time to time, but we both unsubscribed.

Why ZOS locked the provinces by faction is beyond me...
And why so many doors are either un-enterable due to quests or just a texture...

massively frequent bugs and glitches, what seems to be a lack of communication and/or understanding from developers of what its fan base wants from the game ( much like the developers of final fantasy from ffXI onwards) and I guess the sheer mass of players which seem to have little interest in the mmo aspect of the game or even the beauty of the game, which of course causes countless slap dash guilds, drum n bass blaring down the mic, insulting and swearing Frenchmen and Spaniards in almost every delve, town or dungeon and makes it nigh on impossible to find a decent pvp guild. (at least for me it does)

    The ridiculous VR grind.

    999+ latency in PvP.

    Lack of content.

    10gb "maintenance" patches.

Although the things I enjoy about ESO out weigh these particular downfalls.

Initially it was the broken PvP which was so unbalanced a Vampire could kick out unlimited batswarms and heal himself more than 30 people could damage him while killing them all.

Now it is Cadwell Silver and gold, PvP under Vet 14 is terrible because its just being cannon fodder. But to get to Vet 14 I have to get through Cadwell silver and gold. Which I am so bored of. I don't want to help the other factions I want to kill them.

The realization that this game's grind is not the kind of grind I'm interested in.

Feeling like I can't catch up. I play casually and maybe 90-95% of my active playtime is in Cyrodiil. I've reached VR12 after more than a year, lol. Thought I was almost there, but the announcement about VR16 really depressed my motivation. I kind of feel like, "What's the point." And that's only level. There's still CPs when (if) I ever get to max level.

    Announcements about unnecessary PvP nerfs.

Requirement to PvE to be effective at PvP.

Seeing friends stop playing the game, for whatever reason.

No desirable rewards for PvPing besides a couple rings when (if) I reach VR14, which apparently won't even be max level.

    • dying to invisible veils and banners because client can't be bothered to render all the visual effects because, again, zergs
    • grind
    • new ultimate generation system
    • burning oils no longer working on ground
    • poor performance in cyro
    • random crashes
    • keep doors not working
    • grind
    • nerfing certain abilities into uselessness because 'nerf' apparently means 'annihilate' to zos
    • half of the abilities hitting for half of your health
    • entire CP system
    • more grind
    • certain bugs taking over a year to fix
    • zos doing the exact opposite of what they promise they're gonna do
    • people complaining just for the sake of complaining
    • no variety to pvp, not even dueling option
    • PVE

I'm sure I missed a few things but that's what comes to mind at the moment.

    Wait. Wait just a minute.

Do you mean to say that keep doors are STILL not working? After all this time?

I find that too incredible to believe.

Loved the 'sir pot on the head' reference:
I agree though stopped my first toon at v5 , but thought I'd try another. Gotta love John Cleese though .... But yeah I know the vet stuff is a bit crap , it's better to reroll in the other areas rather than do vet content (unless you're into the 'endgame' of course)

I just like the journey, good for pve fans (I get why it's just not tolerable for pvp peeps though)

"What in ESO has made you want to stop playing?"

    Cadwell's Silver.

How badly vampires are done with no help in sight.

    Ditto werewolves.

All the suggestions they ASKED for, for items to go into the crown store, being ignored.

    No Spellcrafting.

No player housing and/or guild cities.

    No dueling.

I found that more wretched hive of scum and villainy which Obiwan asserted could not be found. Two of them, in fact: one for werewolves, and another for vampires. Hanging around the shrines for a half hour is enough to make me nauseous.

I would love to agree with you guys but I love the game and only seem to play 7 or so hours a day. I spent 3 weeks in Stonefalls and still had things to do. There are tons of things to do if you actually play the game instead of trying to grind to vet 14 on day 1.

I started as a monthly sub and thought the game overall was really good. As I progressed forward , I began to realize that I was doing the same thing over and over again in PVE. I can't count how many times Ive had to align crystals or stones or wear a disguise to get past an enemy or talked to some floating spirit .

There is just no depth to the quests and after a while it's all just re paints of the same thing. I thought at first the world of Tamriel would be interesting and immersive but now it seems like a bland empty shell of repetition . I have more fun challenging groups of mobs in Craglorn solo than I do questing.

PVP has been offense>defense since I started . The AVA concept is good but lacking in incentive. A few builds and skills dominate and nothing ever gets balanced or fixed. I feel like a hampster on a wheel at this point and continuously question how much more time I want to invest.

The game should have made the decision to add new content , focus on PVP that everyone can enjoy and address technical issues as a priority. Instead they made a cash shop the priority which cheapened the entire game IMHO. This to me was the first indication that there is a problem as other companies have taken the same path toward failure.

My sub ends today and I probably will not renew .

    Tired of seeing this also.

Impossible trophies. Or at least ones that aren't worth the effort.

you understand trophies mean absolutely nothing right? not knocking you or anything, but to dislike a game for making a imaginary reward hard to get seems odd to me.

I try to platinum every game I play, I don't always succeed, but when I do, I PLATINUM.
That being said, I agree trophies don't do anything for the actual games, however I disagree when you say they mean absolutely nothing...
They dictate skill levels of players, they dictate how involved a player is within games, they dictate how good a person actually is at a game as far completion etc.
The number itself might be arbitrary but the trophy is not.
    Trophies prove accomplishments as well.

I'm sure there's things in games I can do that you can't, and vice versa, trophies will show that sort of thing.

Elder Scrolls is not the type of game I play for trophies though. Trophies are purely secondary to the experience here for me.
That being said the only one I might not get here is Emporer. But we'll see.

Either way I'm not quitting over trophies, I'm not quitting over gameplay, I'm not quitting at all.
I don't have the gripes many people here have. Perhaps because I'm new to the game since I held out for ps4, or perhaps because I don't have the expectations that everyone else seems to have. The game is utterly enjoyable to me.

I sub, I run 8 characters, and I play in both servers. It's a blast and IMO a great ES Game, and a pretty decent mmo.

The Elder Scrolls games are on the dark side of things, but the Devs try to not let it be called evil, just pass it off as "another option" kind of thing. Being openminded is cool and all. In Skyrim I could avoid anything I thought was too evil for my preferences, but not here in ESO.

To me the game ESO is overwhelmingly evil, and in so many obvious and also in subtle ways. Soul Gems... got to be the most evil system of mana/power management I ever saw in a video game, and it's downright impossible to avoid using them in ESO. Sorcerer's pets only deadra (who we are supposedly trying to fight), the skills themselves of most classes (don't need to be a Vamp when you are a NB, the standard self heal IMO is just a vampire skill), our status as a "soul shriven", too much emphasis on vampire and werewolf, as well as many others too numerous to list.

I tried to give this game a good go at it, tried to be open minded... the game has it's fun parts for sure... but to me evil is evil no matter what dress it wears. Evil sexy is still evil and I have no taste for it. I even tried playing just Templars but even that feels like I am just pretending to be good. I don't want to just pretend to be a good guy in a video game, I want my character to be a good guy, not just "another kind of evil".

That is why I hardly play at all anymore and have given up any desire to make it anywhere near 50.

    BRUH...

    The MMO feel.

    It's too "on rails"

I wanted ESO to be mapped like other TES games. With unleveled zones and high level bosses is areas that make sense.

    And all the instancing.

I still play because it's the best mmo out there, but it lacks enough RPG to satisfy me completely.

Playing as Dominion was disappointing but there were some other deal breakers for me. Several broken quests, disappointing alliance story, greedy community, NO AUCTION HOUSE, terrible group system, feeling very limited on ability use, lack of housing, not being able to chat with a keyboard, Vampire and Werewolf bites, the champion/veteran afterthought, disappointing guild system, and a feeling of helplessness about one quest in particular...

    The Prisoner of Jathsogur.

If you haven't played dominion here is the quick version: its a broken mission with a terribly annoying voice over and it shows exactly how awful the ps4 community can be.

"I can see my prison! The fortress on the hill, come up..."

It is the new Navi- "Hey, listen!"... I swear it's like we all have PTSD.

I even hear it in my dreams. I wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night and run to check and see if the tower is empty. Of course there is always a room full of people who just want the suffering to end (along with a few trolls reported dozens of times).

All day. On two different characters. Every time I hear it I come closer to throwing my ps4.

This post isn't here to beg someone to fix it. It's more of a support group for those going through the same emotional pain and suffering that I have endured.

At least it isn't another post about Werewolf and Vampire bites... (Oh, wait)

Obviously this is all me just complaining. The game is self has been fun and the continuation is much appreciated. It has been far more interesting on the other alliances. Champion system is a bonus but seems weak.

This being said I still do actually play and enjoy the game.

But seriously... We aren't seeing any improvements any time soon. Might as well complain while we still remember this game.

Which server are you on? I am on the NA server and had a problem with that quest last night and early this morning, but then I went back around 1130am est and no one was there and I was able to complete it. You just have to wait for most of the trolls to get bored or log off. What happens is they grab and kill the boss before he can run down the ramp and it won't complete the quest. If you can get some alone time in there you can actually get it done.

Some reasons to why I have tought about quitting, and still do. And the reason I unsubbed. (im still playing)
    • Bugs and how long ZOS spends on fixing them, or knowingly lets them sit on live before doing anything. Examples is the vampire batswarm exploit early on, nirnhoned and sharpened bugs.
    • Lagg in cyrodiil.
    • Lack of new pvp content.
    • Bad unbalanced systems like the champion system and the veteran rank grind.
