I linked my Xbox one with my PC and did not get my crowns or any of my characters.

i believe the character transfer was part of the console preorder you had to preorder before a certain date

Linking does not transfer anything, never have. Your progress will not carry over between platforms

This is too bad. A "Sync" option between platforms could really enhance the game for players with friends in multiple platforms. It is inevitable that people with limited time, they will have to choose between platforms leaving one behind, and their friends along with it.

but the question is what is the point of link for... i link my account to i wasn't expecting character transfer as i knew that i didn't pre-order but i was hoping to get the champ point transfer

What about the treasure maps and stuff? I have the Imperial edition for both PC and my xbox. But only my PC character has had any treasure maps.

The Treasure Maps were a free pre-order bonus called "The Explorer's Pack". If you pre-ordered the game for PC and did not transfer your character during the 30 day promotional period (when it was available) then this bonus only applies to your PC account. The same goes for "The Imperial Edition" bonuses.

If you didn't pre-order the console version or apply for the character transfer promotion when it was available, then you do not receive this pack for free on consoles. You can however purchase it on the crown store for 1,500 crowns. "The Imperial Edition" upgrade can also be purchased on the crown store on consoles.

Yeah I find it very annoying that we can't transfer characters anymore. All of my friends play on console now but I have been playing on PC for a while and I have to start completely over. Sucks big time!
