Voice chat unavailable

I keep getting this message every time I try to use voice chat: "Voice Chat is unavailable. This could be due to routine server maintenance or a configuration issue. Visit help.elderscrollsonline.com for additional support."

Is anyone else getting this or know how to fix it? If there is already a thread on this, sorry, I didn't see it.

That has happened to me a few times while I was playing. The voice chat will come back eventually. The servers are getting crushed right now so things like this are expected.

Yeah, I assumed there would be issues around launch. I just haven't been able to use it since launch last night. So, I wasn't sure if it was something on my side or if others had the same issue, since I hadn't seen any posts about it. Anyways, thanks for the response. I will just give it a day or two, to see if it gets straightened out.

I know I said I would wait a day or two, but oh well. I cut ESO on my PS4 and my chat worked fine. I came back to Xbox and it still is down. I changed controller and headset on XB1, but it didn't help either. I would like to talk to my guild mates or party members.

im 90% sure that all problems being posted right now are due to server overload lol. because my chat is doing the same as yours every now and then but wait patiently and it should come back up. not sure what ZOS is doing about the servers being crowded though.

My chat is coming up with exact same message as Grimnaur and hasn't worked since launch either, i can party chat fine so it is nothing to do with console, but all in game chat is unavailable.

Hello, I'm wondering what's the status on Xbox one voice chat. It is my understanding that for most it is working. But I've been playing since lauch and I've never been able to talk or listen to anyone else. When I go to voice chat on the menuit has it listed as "Voice chat is unavailable. This could be due to routine server maintenance or a configuration issue. Visit (your support site) for additional support." Can anyone help me out or update me on this issue please!

Yeah they go on and off, randomly. Sucks when you're trying to talk to people, but nothing game ruining.

My voice chat started working for the first time, yesterday. It was working earlier today also. I don't know what changed, but it has finally came on. I hope it gets fixed for everyone else soon. I know how frustrating it is.

If you're like me and use a broken ethernet cable that likes to come unplugged, check it and make sure it's in and if not, then plug it back in and reset your console. This fixed it for me.

Voice chat has never worked for me since I started playing ESO, it keeps telling me "voice chat is unavailable. This could be due to routine server maintenance or a configuration issue. Visit help.elderscrollsonline.com for additional support" while all my friends are using it just fine. Am I the only one who has this issue?

I've had the game now for two weeks on Xbox one and I'm getting the same message that voice chat is unavailable. Anyone have any tips?

I'll go ahead and add my "me too" to this thread so I can follow. Got the game for Father's Day and still not able to use voice chat on the XB1 NA server. Doesn't matter what day or what time, I always get the same message that most of you are getting.

Hi! I have the same problem like Grimnaur since I have moved to a new adress. At my old home all worked fine.
Now I have a new router. Could this cause the Problem?
I have open all the Xbox One ports like descriped here: support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/network-ports-used-xbox-live
And I have also deactivated the Firewall, but nothing helps...

Has no one been able to fix this problem??

I FOUND A SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM!

I had to request my Internet Provider to give me a IPV4 adress instead of a IPV6.
With the IPV4 adress the voice Chat in elder scrolls online works fine again

my voice chat hasn't been working for almost 2 months now

with the same message "Voice Chat is unavailable. This could be due to....." I tried everything to fix it, even sent them a ticket and followed their instructions, still nothing....

anyone know a fix, help me please :'(

Put my ps4 on friends wifi voice chat work i put back on my LAN line and voice is down it totally sux im n a 30 person guild bc i kno leader but i ve only played alone and have to turn down people who group bc its rediculous i cld tlk on dc univ online and FF 14 but ESO no way it wrked for 5 min 1st day game was out but nada now and i think just gonna have give up on it bc trust me if you think Bethesda gives a damn bout ESO really you just as crazy as me thinkin this game could work

Yea ive been on lil over 2 months the wait and see aint working and all my friends can chat that makes worse i will y all were my friends so we all b n same silent boat mmo game with no way to communicate is like the biggest paradox ever "mind-blown"
