[Opinion] Championsystem and 1.6

Hey dear fellow Players,

first of all I would like to clarify, that the following text just reflects my opinion regarding the championsystem and other changes that came with 1.6.

I love this game, its mechanics (active combat) and the opportunities to develope an individual character.
I consider myself as a slight above average player regarding PvP.

I paused the game shortly after the release of 1.6 and was planning to return, since I got the time now.

So I returned, farmed gear and some champion points to adapt to the new standards and played a bit, some massive PvP, some duels.
I do not demand to beat elitists and players who really invest a lot of time into the game, but what I experienced was for me just stunning.

It appears (just my opinion, or maybe I am not slight average anymore but rather a terrible player), that the championsystem has created already an insane gap between casuals and players who can/want invest more time.

It is absolutely clear, that there has to be gap between those two kinds of players.
(I for my opinion think that alternative advancement systems like that, are no solution to keep people playing the game)



My next point is the abolition of caps.

ZOS argued the removal of caps, to bring more diversity in the game.
My experiences indicate that it developed in the opposite direction.

Watching duels, and massive PvP shows, that there is scarce a handful of different builds out there which are really competitive.
This differs to my opinion of diversity.
I understand that there will allways be metas and fotm builds, but it seems for me that the gap between those builds and alternative builds is to big.


So now an end to the complaining section, lets come to my suggestions to adress the described problems (possibly just my problems)

I would like to see some kind of caps reintroduced.
PvP caps especially.

I think the pre 1.6 caps were quite nice, maybe a bit too low, I think if they would be adjusted to the current game build, it could help casual players staying a bit more competitive.

My idea is to restict this caps to PvP, let the PvE-Players be capless, I dont think thats unfair.

What caps could achieve:
A lot of armors that are currently ingame, but absolutely not usefull because of the min/max politics of the game, could get more interesting.
This may results in some gear diversity.

The gap between elitists and casuals would get smaller.
The Game would so be more interesting for newcomers and returners.
