Guild traders are just about useless

At this time they really are. People think every item they pick up is worth thousands of gold and with the outrageous prices on pretty much all of them I'm just too discouraged to even look at them half the time (the other half is devoted to laughing at how stupid people are). I want to hire a trader for my guild some day but I've kind of figured that if people don't come down to earth on their asking prices eventually most players won't even bother with the guild traders. Am I wrong? Will this work it's self out? I was talking to a buddy about the asking prices on blue rarity motif books and told him that buying them with crowns would be more effective than wasting the hours saving up the gold people are asking for.

Well, just like with any MMO trading system, supply and demand will ultimately balance everything out in time. No worries there. I think the major issue really, in regards to guild traders, is actually getting a decent one. With most of the PC transfer having a monopoly on the console version (since they have millions of gold to bid on them), your only chance of getting a trader is probably getting one in an obscure location that people don't visit often. Any other traders though, good luck trying to get...

You must be playing on console. I created an ESO trading site several months ago for a couple of reasons, one being that I hate the guild trader system. I wish that ESO had a global auction house where any player could post trades without having to be in a guild, but that's never going to happen. The links to ESO Trade are in my signature below. Yeah it's the console version. They probably figure guild traders are another way to get people to guild up (which I'm not totally against, without incentive why join a guild?) there's just way too much wrong with them. I hadn't even considered the pc players the crossed over, which is something else I don't get, if you move from ps4 to xbox 1 I have to start all over right? Seems the pc progress being transferred causes a number of balancing issues.

Not trying to be a jerk I know pc players have put a lot of time into their games, it just doesn't change the facts.

i don't get this part..even days i don't farm items or harvest for gold..it comes easy..what level are you? the price of blue motifs lest on all the brokers i check are any where from 2,500-5,000 ...most if you look you can find for at or under 3,000..

you can make that just walking around..if you put up 10 of any one of these 3 flowers ..Bugloss -Columbine=Mountain Flower..for 2500 they will sell. Trust me i bought 100 columbine and 100 Mountain flower today for 25,000 each cause im tried of looking for them..the reason...

Potions if you can use 3 ingrents in Alchemy you can make Tri-Healing potions

vr-5 ones

Health 6,377 plus 20% for 31 sec Health recovery
Magicka 5778 plus 20% for 31 sec MR
Stamina 5778 plus 20% for 31 sec SR

Money can be made easy if you know what your looking for..pick flowers lol

PC has access to Master Merchant ( and its predecessors) giving the community easy access to an average value of goods. We had similar issues prior to the development of such addons.

One thing to remember, just because they list it at that price it does not mean you have to pay that price. I see price ranges all the time on the PC that go from bargain to absurd. I never pay absurd prices, just the reasonable ones. What you may not be seeing are the items that have been priced right and snatched up already. If your a member of a Guild that has store, you can look in the Sales History to see what items are really selling for, then you can laugh at the absurd prices and find something else to buy.

If your not sure if the item is overpriced for the market, with common items, if it has been listed for 5 or more days, it is probably overpriced, if listed for more than 10 days, it is over priced. Rare items, they can sit in the stores for a couple of weeks even at market price, because market price is so high.

I'm level 36 in Ebonheart Pact and the prices are between 5,000 and 10,000 on the ones I've checked. When I said that I was mad about all the tards selling them for 10,000. I'd buy them all with crowns before paying 10k for each of the blue motif books (not saying I'd really do either). 2000 - 3000 thousand is what I sell mine for I think that's fair.

All blue motifs are common. On PC these sell for 500 gold on average. Whoever buys them for anything more than that, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell to you.

Your looking at this the wrong way. If you price things appropriately (and it seems like you do), then the people who list for insane prices just make your prices look that much better. I like the people who list things for high prices. It makes my market prices look like a bargain price. I wish more would list that way.

And, don't worry, the prices you are seeing are the same prices we saw on the PC in the beginning. Well, we did not have Guild Kiosks at first and Guildies tend to sell to Guildies for a cheaper price. I am sure the Kiosks are contributing the higher prices on the consoles now.

Prices will float down because of market pressures. It costs money to list things, so people will soon stop listing them for prices that don't sell, otherwise it is a money losing operation for them. Since you get your listing fee back when it sells, people will soon figure out what to sell things for as that is the way to make the most money in the long run.

This reply indicates one of the biggest problems with the trading system. In so far as it's functional, it's for high level players only. Plus of course it's gated behind guild membership which no core part of a game should be. The present system is simply wrong on so many levels, for both buyers and sellers alike.

The lack of an open world auction house can only be related to the lack of courage of the programmers who decided a megaserver was better than multiple smaller servers so open world auction houses could actually be implemented.

(I can see the logistical nightmare of programming a single auction house for one megaserver ... huge database resources required)

I have just supposed that the console players haven't built up any kind of surplus because I seldom find anything I'm looking for at any price. On the other hand, there really should have been enough transfers on both servers to have seeded the guild traders. The prices are absurd though so I generally pass even if I manage to find something.

How is my reply for high levels only??? ive been picking and selling resorce nods since i got out of prison..all 3 of those flowers any level 3 can get..gated behind guild membership?? i go in area chat all the time asking if anyone wants to sell these flowers at a fair price and i bet if your any where near a alchy and say your sellin those in area chat they will respond no guild needed and no leveling needed

I don't play any more because I lost faith in the game devs and feeling jerked around by them. But I remember when blue motifs were about 300g because they were so common. That's on the PC though.

meh .. tri-potions not needed for pure magicka sorcerers ... I use health/magicka/spell crit .. well I suppose thats sort of "tri"potion
