soooo im vet one have moslty green/blue gear and just cant seem to do vet dungeons, die quite easily. what im thinking is i do normal dungeons for better gear and the it will be easier, or are vet dubngeons just crazy hard ... also no one has mics plugged in so when, for example, you need to bash the cauterizers in crypt of hearts, and no one is communicating, makes it a lot harder >.<

Veteran levels are when you'll start figuring out how to build your character and for what you want to build it.

I would get yourself in PvP for a bit personally, because PvP in any game makes you a far superior player to the equivalent PvE player as it requires you to get a more in depth look at your powerset, the game mechanics and how it all interacts.

One of the PC guys on here will probably be able to help you with specific builds, or at least general ideas of what you need for your class as far as PvE goes.

As for no communication, I fully suggest not running with pugs & instead trying to organise a group of friends instead, as most pugs are usually in party chat and not even connected to the group chat.

the VR dungeons are the same one as the normal, but with more mechanics to the fights ( i think they might be a little stronger as well, but not sure)

interrupts, taunts, stuns, knockbacks and things like that come into play pretty hard in VR side. I have yet to find a group that doesnt talk and can complete a VR group dungeon.

without communication, it can be rather challenging!
and like the guy above me said, builds are way more important on the VR side. if your party comes in thinking it lvl 12 Fungal Grotto, you will not last long!
Guildmaster - Order of Stendarr [XB1] - Apply today!

I think communication is the biggest key to succeeding in Vet Dungeons. So many of the fights require multiple players to be performing separate actions at the same time. If you aren't communicating, you're dead.

Veteran Dungeons are meant to be challenging. They aren't the same as the normal ones and instead they compound onto the non-veteran story and gives more depth. There are more bosses, more adds, more mechanics and less forgiveness. You really need to understand the mechanics and the game as well as the other three group members. You really need a true tank who can taunt enemies and block damage and crowd control. You need a healer to keep everyone alive as best as they can. You need DPS to burn through the adds to be able to focus on the boss and I think we can all agree that the DPS needs to have some AOE damage whether it be steel tornado, impulse, etc. The thing you need most, however, is communication. Without communication you're putting yourself at a huge disadvantage.

Normally I would agree, but I have read on these very forums that this is often not the case...

Dungeons scale to the group leader's level. Make the lowest level person in your group party leader if it helps. (bear in mind if you make it too low level you won't get anything from it.)

I agree with this, and it's funny because i rarely see people in the enchantment and alchemy stores making stuff which is a crucial part to the game and builds as well. But to the defense of the OP as well, the console version is lacking a lot of important information for in-depth character building.

as an example, the Nightblade has that evasion/dodge skill that increases it by 20%, but based on what??? there is no number/percentage to show you how effective this skill can be because there's hardly any in-depth numbers/percentages to build from. for a game that requires some good character building to survive difficult dungeons, they really don't give the player much to work with :\

Puging vet dungeons on console w/out text chat is and will continue to be a nightmare. The gap of uneducated/ new to mmo players vs experienced mmo players is currently the worst ive ever seen in a mmo b/c people just arent learning the basics playing alone or with other randoms in queues. Usually a 'new to mmos' player will learn extensively just from watching zone chat or actually texting questions in zone chat when they start playing. Unfortunately with ESO on console there is now a huge portion of the player pop that is levling all the way up to Vet ranks without once talking to an experienced player. Eventually those that really want to learn will come here to the forums or will find a guild of experienced players, but ZoS has really set up a horrible divide for a new players ability to learn by excluding text.

well i defo agree, i have played MMO Since Ever quest in 1999.... so if a healer is healing the bposs, my automatic response is to interupt, were as some less experienced players just run and hit the boss even though he being ridiculously out healed by the add XD

I love it. I'm glad there's at least something challenging in this game. So far only PvP has given me some kind of rush.

Figuring out character build is tough really early on. There is a couple of things new players can do to get started.

    Ask yourself

Once you figure out what you like doing in the game things get a lot easier. For example, I like healing. Healing other people makes me feel great because I can keep my group up and running. I keep them buffed up, and ultimately I keep them safe so they can continue doing the they love doing best. This drives me to play.

So with that in mind, what do I do to compliment my playstyle? Well I focus on 3 aspects of Magicka; Mana Regain, Spell Power and Spell Crit. I have 66 CS points in Mana Regain and I have close to 2,000 mana every 2 seconds filling up my 24,000+ mana bar. Why mana regain? Simple, I can keep casting. I get a large pop of mana after I cast Breath of Life. This means I can keep pressing buttons to keep my group alive and my mana regain can keep up. This is important to me. I need to keep my group alive and it is very taxing on my Mana. A secondary stat I focus on is Spell Power and Critical. These stats compliment my Mana regain, as it makes my spells heal affect much more powerful(IE: I can Crit heal for 10,000 HP and not always heal 7,000 HP) which means I can conserve my Mana for when I need to use it. And of course I have CS points in Heal efficiency and Spell Power/Critical. And yes my gear buffs these traits too(Mundus Buff+Divines armor+Seducer+Martial Knowledge Set). But I still need to get Healers Habit pieces!

Ask someone to craft you set gear, here are the sets players can craft: http://eso-fashion.com/hidden-crafting-stations/

The following link is gear you can find in Dragon Star Arena, PVP loot bags, Trials and monster drops. These sets are equipment sets you need to work towards later in your characters life once you figure out your build. As these equipment sets are some of the best in the game.
