Empowered Ward question (sorc)

Hi, ive been dabbling with a pet build, and was wondering if anyone could tell me the following:

1) Does the pet damage bonus apply to explosions?
and
2) Does the pet get the damage bonus while the shield is on YOU, or on the PET?

1) Yes

2) Not sure I believe it is while it is active on the pet. But in a pet build your ward should always be active on the pet. I watch them and the second they unbubble they get a new cast. This will result in both you and your pets being bubbled at all times

2) only applies when the shield is on the pet

Would be insane, if the bonus would apply to volatile familiar explosions. Only use Empowered ward, when you plan on using the twilight pet. Otherwise, it's useless, as the clannfear and familiar don't deal enough damage to make it worth it.
