I am a nightblade. Currently leveling and I need some advice so I know which road to take. My question involves the major brutality buff and the two sources I will have access to as a stamina nightblade: Momentum (Rally morph) vs. Power Extraction.
First, which one is better? I know one is a damage dealing attack, while the other is a HoT. One can be used outside of combat, and one must deal damage to proc. Aside from these main differences, are there any inherent pros and cons to each?
To shed some light on my playstyle, I'm running dw/bow as a sneaky assassin type of nb. I make use of the bow skills at range, and the ambush/shadowy disguise and sneak attack combo while dual wielding. I'm not a big fan of 2H weapons. They're bulky and slow and don't fit my playstyle, but there's just so much utility in the skill tree with things like the HoT from Rally and the damage shield from Brawler. I don't want to be forced into using those types of weapons if I can help it, but on the other hand, I'm not thrilled that Power Extraction is an AOE that must deal damage to give the buff (I'm more into single target).
I have heard from a source or two that Hidden Blade from the DW skill tree might be getting this major brutality buff added. This would actually make my day as if gives me ranged attack plus the damage buff. I won't hold my breath, however.
Somebody want to give me a gentle nudge in the right direction? I'm looking for details with opinions and maybe some numbers to back it up. If someone has a similar build to mine, give me your feedback. Thanks.
