Why Low Level players can be (and are) more deadly than higher levels

theghost133
NOTE:This is my opinion and mine alone based upon what I've seen and encountered whilst PVPing

Here's a scenario: You are a level 40 player lone wolfing Cyrodiil hunting stragglers when you come across a level 10 and level 30 player. Both are unaware of you as well as unaware of each other. Who do you attack?

Chances are, you're going to attack that poor level 10. And chances are, you'll win. But, have you ever considered how easily the tables could turn simply by using your own tactics against you? It is a known fact throughout every competitive PVP game that lower levels will always have a target on their back, they are weak and defenseless compared to others, and this could also become their greatest strength. Let's say that lower level is running with a group and they saw you before you saw them, now everyone in that group stealthed except for that level 10 who is baiting you in -- and you just walked into an ambush. Another scenario could be the level 10 is near some guards, not close enough to aggro them towards you, but close enough to maneuver behind you and use a knockback to throw you into the group. Now you have the more powerful guards, as well as that level 10 to worry about.

It always fascinates me the tactics other players adopt to out think and overpower their opponents. If there is any take away from this I hope it is this: Be aware of your surroundings and how other players perceive you, it might just become your advantage.

Now what are your favorite tricks and tactics to win the fight?

I agree. much of pvp in this game is about out smarting your opponent and surprising them. I always play the player not the character. Also, you never know what kind of level 10 it is. is it a level 10 noob first timer? is it lvl 10 vet with a ton (or even small) amount of champ points that not only knows many advanced tactics and gameplay but knows all your skills and what you will probably use against them. Or perhaps your like me and just rolled a new toon specifically tailored to non-vet pvp right from lvl 10. I geared my toon in the tutorial so that I could maixmize the amount of xp i would get in two skill lines rather then spreadin them out allowing me to have a suprise advantage in what skills i am using at level 10. for instance GDB at level 10 is a nice little help. you just never know. i play every person the same regardless of level. even in vet pvp.

In my experience of PVP your scenario would go something like this:

Level 40 spots level 30 and level 10, decides to take out the level 10 first, the trap is sprung and the three more level 10 join the fight. The more experienced level 40 stays calm and uses his skills to his advantage to counter numbers. The level 10's start to take serious damage and start panicing pushing any key to try to do damage, they start to die. The level 30 decides to help the level 10's and goes to their aid and gets in a few good blows but the level 40 targets him and kills him taking him out of the fight, the remaining level 10's try to flee but are rapidly killed. Level 40 rides off with AP.

It could very well go that way as well....but again its still about tricks and tactics, the level 40 uses his tactics in a way that benefit themselves whilst the level 10s did not in that case...However I have run across some level 10s that can out sustain level 30s+ because they are avid MMO players and the opponent is the typical hack and slash type

For me I will usually out resource in a 1v1. In fact I can think of exactly one player who has beaten me 1v1 and that is mini skirt. Even that fight It takes awhile to cut me down. Their regen is so high I don't 7nderstand grrrrr. I can usually take on up to 1v3. I will always target healer first. Then I target the best player. Not the highest but who ever is playing the best out of that group. Usually it is a lvl 40 or so it seems. I let the lower levels go till last mainly cause they do not have the passives to out resource me. Ofcourse a competent trio will take me down and in a case when I know my death is inevitable I will resort to perma blocking and healing myself till backup arrives. I can stay up for quite sometime by doing so and usually at least one person helps out. Got to love the templar hybrid 1h/sh and resto.

In non vet campaign, I use the amount of hp the enemy have to know if he have a lot of CP. Nearly just CP boost life with the scaling, so I can know most of the time if my enemy is dangerous or just perhaps dangerous.
Oh, and I target v1-9 players before everyone else, because they are the weakest. Or in small group, I kill v14 first because these low level won't be able to kill me easily.

but i still dont see where in the patch notes it states that it affects your max health. it simply states that it affects your health and defensive capabilities. the context in which it discusses this simply alludes that the red constellations stars are related to your health and defense in a survivability capacity not in a directly affects your max stats.

Your first point in each constellation gives you 1% extra health, stamina, or magicka. The boost goes down with every point after that, but even tiny amounts can add up when you get to hundreds of CP.
