I was wondering if I should go light armor for this build? Is there heavy or medium armor that gives Magicka?

Highly suggest light armor for magicka builds due to the buffs, but you could run 5 pieces light and 2 heavy for added armor rating.

Overall, its what you want to play my friend. Check out on Youtube or around the forums for more details.

5 Light & 2 Heavy ~ If you are Level 7 or 9 in Undaunted, 5 Light, 1 Medium & 1 Heavy. Focus on 2 full 5 piece set bonuses or 3x sets of 4 piece bonuses. Good luck, young templar!

Another question, I have 8 attribute points so far and I have 4 in Magicka, 2 in Health and 2 in Stamina. Is that bad? I read a discussion on here about dumping all your points into either Magicka or Stamina. Would that affect my duel wielding if I dumped all of it into Magicka?

You only need 5 pieces to get the spell crit. Ignore the confusing tooltip.

as a magicka based templar, you should invest heavily in magicka. i'd personally put all in magicka but on my current healer templar, i have like... 60/40 magicka/hp. whatever stat you lack in, you can make up for with gear but end game, i'd assume you want to be heavily magicka.

i would not advise you have a hybrid stamina/magicka build end game. sure you could probably do it easily as you level. you can always respec anyway.

TLDR: as you level, just get gear that augments the stat you are lacking in. i carry multiple sets of armour with me at the moment. also, DW gives the most spell damage at the moment.

Don't worry about that now. Level up all armor types and all weapons early in the game. You can decide what you like best and specialize in it later. You can equip armor and weapons and skills when you turn in quests to get a big boost of XP toward them. Then switch back to something else while adventuring. Or just vary up your weapons and armor while adventuring. But don't focus too narrowly before you hit max level. You'll want to be as flexible as possible to achieve an endgame build you like.

Does it really matter what weapon I use? I'm duel wielding right now and I have a destruction staff.
