Should Weapon dyes be available in the future?

There are a fair amount of choices for weapons with the motifs currently available no doubt more will become available but the color schemes can be a bit bland especially compared to our armour options. some of these weapons (and shields) would benefit from sharing the same system as the armour dyes. Thoughts?

As far as I know it is already in the pipe line/has been thought about, but yes I agree and would love to see it happen, I just think there are more pressing matters to deal with first.

    Of course it should. Furthermore:
    • Should be able to plaster guild crest on a shield.
    • Should be able to use costume items to change weapon appearance (staff to sword, etc.)
    • Should be able to "enchant" weapons with cosmetic particle effects.

They are in the works but shields will be out before them for weapons are gonna take longer cause ZoS has to go through every single one including special weapons such as the Emperors blessing or trial weapons.

Weapons should have been designed with dye options already in place, even if they weren't implemented initially. Poor planning if they weren't.
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Incase anyone was curious i found this article which had a small reply in part of a q and a (under dyes and itemisation). It is nearly a year old so it's probably not the most up to date information but it sounds like it isn't a sure thing.

Can anyone think of any other games that had a weapon dye system? I can think of others with armour dyes but not weapon dyes and I'm interested to see if there more uncommon and if so why.

As a programmer, I am honestly curious about this from a technical standpoint. Every modern MMO I've played has started out with, or eventually obtained, armor dyeing of some kind. But WEAPON dying always seems to come much later, if at all, and is usually accompanied with the reasoning that it is more technically difficult.

Why? I'm honestly curious what it is that makes weapons more difficult to dye than armor? It never dawned on me before but after seeing it over and over I'm really starting to get curious as to what the story behind this is.

Depending on material and upgrade, we kinda have pinkish swords already sometimes. Not the neon pink some people are afraid of though... personally I don't think it'd be too bad though, consider the options for armor, and how many people go wonky with those, why should they go that different with swords? And in any case... it -would- be possible to limit the blade/axehead/whatever metal part color to using only "metallic" colors...
