The group finder is horrible...

+1. I love this game but the group finder has been trash since launch on pc, its trash on console, and it needs a complete redesign.

You are preaching to the choir guys. Us PC users have been begging for a decent group finder tool since the PC open beta and here we are almost a year and a half later with no improvements in their grouping tools, well none that made any difference. At least we have the option of using zone chat to try and group up. I will say that if you can, join a guild or two that caters to your playstyle. It does make it much easier to run a group with guildies.

So I read this discussion a few days ago and was yet to try a group dungeon at that point.
Went on a quest today, randomly picked from my quest log, only to find out it was a 4 person group dungeon (I don't know if they come bigger and smaller which is why I specified the number).
Flash backs to this thread I get and oh joy I think as I open up the social menu and go to group finder.. "Oh well" I thought "it's about dinner time anyway.. I'll select group finder and eat while its finding a group"

Now I don't know if things have been changed with recent updates, like I said I hadn't tried a group dungeon before, or if I just got lucky but it was easy as hell.
I didn't even get a chance to leave the room to go and get dinner.
Selected find a group, selected the dungeon I was looking for a group for and literally 3-5 seconds and I was in a group.

Lol sorry guys. I notice every other post here is slamming the group finder and here I come along and say that it's a great feature lol..
That being said it was the first and only time I've used it, it was a low-ish lvl dungeon (lvl 18-20 by my guess( don't know if that makes a difference)) and my experience may be quite different in the future.. Here's hoping not though.

I can't say how long the rest of my group was waiting for me to come along either.

the difference is you have text chat, you can go and ask for help.

console users don't, we can only use voice chat and only people in the channel can hear us and i'd wager a good chunk of people either aren't in any channel or stick to their respective guild chats/group chats so they can't even hear us asking for groups. it's completely broken and i'm surprised they launched the game without text chat OR a group finder.
