If you like fast paced and dangerous fights why run an incredibly boring 27k combined shield setup ?

Interestingly enough i can survive with 17k combined shields just fine against pretty much every opponent i have faced so far but one (and that is on a luck crit on his side coupled with several other factors). I still loose fights obviously but i have deafeated pretty much every dueller in EU i know of (except other AD sadly).
Lower shields do however require more thought and being more carefull when going offensive as you said, but well timed blocking and dodging can make up for a lot if you watch your stamina (if i were to use pots not even that would be nesseccary).

I would very much enjoy duelling you as well.
Who knows maybe one of us will take after Sypher and visit the other side of the big lake sometime.

I did not want to sound cocky by the way, I just wanted to show you that there are other ways to play a sorc and in my opinion its just more fun that way. I am far from being one of the best duellers in EU especially since im incredibly inconsistent. Nonetheless i find my shields to be sufficient most of the time even when fighting better players than me.
But when fighting other sorcs with shields such as yourself the advantages of such a setup are always pretty clear to me as i basically have to rely on them making a grievious mistake to get the upper hand.

I never really liked PTS duels since they are so different from the setups used on live (100% dropped/ap armor here).
I guess i should back up my claims though and if your are willing to invest a bit in my setup (id love 3-4 pieces cyros light xD) i think i could enjoy that.

I will have to check the PTS to see how much AP I have. And that is the beauty of PTS duels, in my opinion. Using basic gear and the same setup, so both parties are able to compete at an almost entirely skill based only level. Crafted sets and/or dropped sets can carry players in some instances, but I believe that both players using the same base aether gear or whatever they pick would be the closest to a skill based fighting system.

@LegendaryMage and I were discussing this a lot last time we were dueling.

Yeah, I agree with the gear part 100%. Same gear, maybe even same skills as we had in the video (only 1 skill difference really). In my opinion, a perfect duel would be:

1) Same class obviously.

2) Same gear.

3) Close or identical skill setup and ulties.

4) Equal CPs, maybe even same placement if both fighters fight similarly.

5) Default Cyrodiil map so all parties have equal buffs.

6) No lag or fps issues when recording, in a top competitive fight this can mean the difference between life and death and such fights should be ignored. You gotta love those rapid fps drops and ups every now and then.

7) Close or identical ping, very important (my biggest issue with PTS as it sometimes simply messes my gameplay up with not allowing me to swap in time, or breakfree. It also forces me to play a little bit differently since response times are lower and I generally feel a little bit slowed down).

Ahzek, come on pts, I wanna duel with you too. You're definitely one of the best AD sorcs I went up against, don't be modest my little khajiit friend.

I'll also try and get some more Arena guildies with us such as @Erondil and a few others. It's fun fights, trust me. At least for sorc vs sorc.

Would be cool if we could get more Legend people too!

aw 1st vid so many missed opporunities! like all those times u exploited, talked *** and been a general ***, ripped on anyone else who's build want how you liked, i recall if you didnt approve it was a matter of "you fight like a girl" while u bolted away and hid behind 99k shields and so on=P where are those vids man! feel like im not getting the whole story here!

Here, you actually got someone's attention. I hope it makes you proud.

This was a very challenging fight! Arcane was not kidding when he said it was long... I believe our full fight was roughly 9min long. As to the not interrupting the dwemer... well by that point I think I was thinking more aggressively as opposed to actually thinking lol. Long fights like this... bound to be a lot of mistakes (at least for me).

I'm glad I got the opportunity to this duel. Arcane is an extremely skilled sorc and hopefully I can get to his skill lvl!
