First of all. I started the game, I could see some friends from my PSN list who have had the game for a while, but not the two other friends who bought the game at the same time as me.

I deleted one of the newbies earlier, and re added them to my friends list via the friend add IN GAME. I could then group up to them and travel to them, but once in the game, I headed to their crown marker and they were actually invisible.

Is this an issue as I am level 10, they are 5?

Could it be that they are doing quests I have done and so are not showing up?

Could it be the fact that I am level 10?

Could it be that the game is simply bugged to hell? I'm plumping with this one as bethesda games tend to be full of them.

For an MMO, there seems to be an awful amount of lone wolfing going on, mainly because no one has a choice, due to the inability to group up.

Every other online co-op game, such as dying light, or borderlands or anything else allows players to group up and then go and cooperate with the quests that their friends are on, regardless of whether you have done them or not!

    It's a bit daft.

    What's happening?

The issue you are running into isn't any bug. It's actually something in the game. Where as the quest he is doing he is either further in progress than you or you are farther than him where it caused an event to happen in game to change the world around you and since you or your friend can't be in the same altered world, the game puts yu in two instances until you both get on the same world level so to speak.

For example: player 1 does a quest that makes the vampires of an area disappear, player two just starts same quest so area is full of vampires, play 1 can't see 2 and vice Versa because one world is altered and the other isnt.

The group questing in this game isn't exactly well made, they don't have alot of quests that allow eachother to work together for a goal. It's not really good about that.

You're simply in different instances of the megaserver, open your friends list or party list if partied and select "Travel to Player". This will send you to the nearest wayshrine in the same instance as your friend, you may now meet face to face and play together.

Unless what I explain is the issue even that won't fix it un til both players are on the same "world instance" where you have the same quests conpleted. Or you could just leave that area and play together in area unaffected by the quest.
