Let's also take into account that every time new gear has droppedal majority of players move to those sets cause they generally are better. Moreover, this is the first new gear since 1.6 has dropped which means they will be tailored to the new metas that ppl use. For instance he hinted at gear that helps fight ppl who are sheilds stacking. Yes it is inevitable that ppl will change their gear with this. Moreover, even crafted sets WI be added eventually. So whether now or later you will be changing your gear up. Bottom line is this is an evolving mmo which people must evolve with. This requires regearing to stay competitive.

We just went through the CP change which rendered a ton of builds useless and most of us at max level re-geared. In that change the PVP Elite gear was finally moved up to V14 and we chased that stuff and re-geared. That part is bad, but it is just time and gold.
The stupid part of it is that there is ZERO reason to chase/buy any piece of gear from now until V16 is in place. Why do I want to chase a V14 monster set in a dungeon I have run 20 times, why do I want to chase a Master's weapon in vDSA for the 20th time why do I want to spend any AP on soon to be obsolete "Elite Vendor Gear" or play the lotto on getting a piece in vendor bags? NONE. Some will say you do it for the fun of it.......sorry, dungeons and DSA stopped being "fun" after the 5th run. The rest of the runs were just a means to an end.
The biggest problem with this addition is it confirms the suspicions that ZOS has no idea what the heck they are doing and their lack of ability and willingness to execute on a vision. The vet grind always sucked and was a problem since day 1. They change that and start working on a massive overhaul in the Champion System to eliminate vet ranks. Now they are going to add 2 vet levels to a system they were supposedly working on removing? Add to that their huge delay in bringing this to console, their long delays of adding new content they previewed at QuakeCon 2014, their constant changes in XP gain and Vet level requirements and the change from subscription to B2P. This shoes that the leadership in this company is out of touch and completely incompetent. I actually feel sorry for the folks working there who are doing the actual work because the huge shifts in direction does nothing but add more work to to an obviously talented yet understaffed group.

The grind to v16 don't bother me at all. The upgrade cost for four vet 16 characters is going to be ridiculous.
So I'm at work and can't watch.
But I get a tweet telling me that ESO Live just said level cap is going to be increased to v16.
This friend of mine is a notorious troll but says he's super cereal. Someone please tell me this isn't so.
It's called having to spend millions of gold to recraft all of our optimized gear, and being lied to about the increase from V12 to V14 being the "last level cap increase before the removal of veteran levels" - which is verbatim what we were told at the time.I dont understand those rages. 2 levels won't change meta.

Yea. unfortunatly we will get VR16. I dont like it though. How are you doin these days @Jules? Long no see!
I think some of you overrate the importancy on instantly getting v16 + new gear. Might as well just pvp and keep the sets you have unless the new sets turn out to be better.
There is no noticeable difference between v12 and v14 gear....

This decision is both infuriating and baffling to me. The fact that we are all still here is a testament to our dedication and patience - or perhaps our insanity. One thing for certain though is that we are not still here because of ZOS.

Oh wow, by the gods I don't think I've ever seen a bigger ZOS white knight, holy jesus...

we already knew that we were going to get new armor with the new content. so you were going to change your armor regardless of the level.Coherence. Your post lacks it. You appear to be trying to say that it's good for ZOS to force us to grind more and get new gear, and that we wouldn't be doing that if the new gear was v14. In what world does that make sense? V16 or not, the only thing that will incentivise us to get it is if the set bonuses are worth it - ie. better than what we have now.bosmern_ESO wrote: »V16 is probably going to be only for the new sets and crafted sets. Which is really good IMO

Those that are V14 currently will be leveled to V16. Wont need to grind to it and ZoS said that they don't like the current armor sets because most of them arent good and everyone is using the same sets, with the ones that are coming out in a future patch is "for your play style".

I do wonder how the system will be implemented, mainly the following points:
-Where will VR16 enemies be located, only in new zones and Imperial City or also in Cyrodiil delves, Craglorn etc?
-Where will VR16 gear drop, and will AP items (like Band of Cyrodiil's Light, Arch Mage, Ravager etc) become VR16?
-Will we need new crafting materials to make VR16 gear?
-How and where will we be able to get items with new traits? Gina said there will be a trait which increases ultimate gain for example.
-Will Sorcs, DKs and Templars be nerfed again and NBs buffed even more?

This.
Higher vet ranks will bring us...
...more possible progress by grinding exp (not needed, covered by the champion system)
...a longer grind (I know they reduce the required exp, but they could do so without adding more ranks just as well)
...more attributes (not needed, if it wasn't only 2 levels it could have a very negative impact)
what the heck were they thinking?
