(The first and Only) NO QQ thread on Skill Cost Increases

The recent changes on increasing skill costs for a few skills / rolldodge / blocking have people crying at a new level it seems BUT

I think this change is brilliant (Excluding blocking, that's just hilarious)

The change infact SHOULD BE ON EVERY SKILL IN THE GAME - It forces people to use a variety of skills, and adds a new level of ability to the game!

Please bring this to every skill in the game, it really helps push for varied builds rather than meta prods

    im sorry but you are just dumb for saying this. In a 5 ability game and sometimes 1 or 2 of those are toggles or defensives. you only have 1 or 2 abilities that actually damage. what are you supposed to do heal them to death? every class or build has typically 1 or 2 spammable attacks and then others to round out the build.

    Using 2 abilities is more than using 1 ability and less than 5 - it just stops single skill spam.

    In my case more has it doesn't effect my build I don't spam roll around and such, and use heavy armor always

    Unless they're reducing skill costs with this update to go along with changes to dmg/healing/dmg shield effectiveness, they essentially increased them significantly (in Cyrodiil only), since it's going to take more casts to deal the same amount of damage as before, or more heals/shields to make up for it.

    While this doesn't really deal with the single skill spam, hopefully it'll deal with the infinite resources issue.

    Note: I don't see how they could really reduce the skill costs, given that the effectiveness change only occurs in Cyrodiil and changing skill costs would thus have big impact for PvE.

    In a pvp fight it should be more of a well executed combo (of a serie of those) like for example: keeping pressure with light and heavy attacks while using some abilities here n there to make the enemy drops its ressource enough, keepng your offensive buffs on and then placing a wrecking blow that knocks your enemy up followed by a crit charge/light attack/execute. If unsuccessful, keep pressure on while keepng your own ressource high and wait for next opportunity.

    Another example in a raid vs raid would be instead of spamming steel tornado with a dk stam dps, you would use it less but with some heavy attacks in the mix and then throw caltrop on enemies to keep pressure on them then proceed to drop and ult along with the rest of your grp while their mitigation (barrier, nova, etc) are down then proceed to use steel tornado as an aoe execute.

    ^^^^This. It makes the game far more skill based in PvP, rather than slamming your fist into number 4 faster than even your girlfriend.

    A healer build may have one attack on his bar, so this idea would seriously gimp that.

    I understand wanting to encourage better play styles then a NB who spams Surprise Attack, or a DK spamming Whip endlessly, but penalizing player skill costs with diminishing returns on every skill?
