Getting Kicked mid-game

AlphaBravoKilo
After I have logged onto the game after 5 or so minutes, I am kicked from the game with an error stating that I need to make sure you have a valid connection. I am able to connect to all other features on Xbox Live and I also have a good download speed (45+ Mbs) and an average upload speed (10+ Mbs). What is the problem with me not being able to stay in a game?

The exact message is "Unable to connect to game server. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection."

As I have already stated, I can connect to all other features Xbox Live has to offer, so my internet connection seems to be fine.

This has happened to me multiple times since launch, and I have not been able to get a clear answer on what the exact problem is.

P.S. - The server I am using is the North American mega-server.

Same all 5 or so times I have actually been able to get in and play 3-15 minutes max mostly 3 - 5 minutes. 30 minutes or less of play time and 5-6 hours of load and unable to connect screens that last 5-15 minutes max. Owned the game since launch. Fun game so far. Wish there was an achievement for how many times you pressed A to start though.

I do agree with you on some points @bmb0815, but I hoping to get so assistance from ESO support and not rant. Though I do feel as frustrated as you. I hope there is a fix to this problem soon.

I guess that did come off as ranting but it actually does seem like a fun game, just wish I could play longer than 5 minutes at a time. Took at least 10 trys (only counting once I got in the game) over 2 days just to get through the character creator due to constantly being kicked.

I agree with you so much! Luckily for me, I have been able to play during hours that are not busy on the server (North American that is), so I have made some progress; however, I would love to play during the "prime hours" with some people. My guess is that the server is quite busy during the late hours.

Cant believe they haven't address this yet...I'm almost to the point of getting a refund...this is garbage, waiting 10 mins...gaming for 5, repeat.

Well, it is good to know that I am not the only one experiencing this issue! @my-4x4 I hope it gets fixed soon too!

I find it gets better around 2 in the morning to about noonish EST time. So if you want to play you better get used to being nocturnal until they get it fixed lol.

Can't really do too much of that with my job, LOL

I hope this works for you guys. It worked for me.

First, Make sure your NAT is open. If not, enable UPNP on your router and restart and recheck NAT.

Second, go into your routers firewall and open the Ipv4 security settings. Set to Low

Third, go into your routers firewall and open the Ipv6 security settings. Set to custom and select only to block ident port 113.

    Save and/or restart.

Obviously, lowering security settings puts you at risk so proceed at your own risk.

    Good luck.

Not willing to increase risk if I can access Xbox Live with the current setup I have. If I have Internet, I should be (ideally) able to play.

Also, I am hard-wired into a wall. But either way, not increasing risk cause it isn't worth it at all. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I couldn't agree with you more. No game is worth the compromise. But i believe this issue lies with ipv6 slowly taking over ipv4 as the new standard and the inter connectivity between the two. As technology advances, so does the means with which we have to adapt to it. I believe this issue will affect many more games until the transition is complete and all hardware becomes standardized.

Blocking port 113 basically makes you "invisible" to a hackers attempt to "fish" or "echo" a response to a ping.
Hacking routers was once commonplace but anymore it is rare and generally unnecessary for a hacker to acquire the information he/she wants. I am not referring to WiFi. Hacking WiFi is extremely commonplace but this is usually to get access to the internet and not the router itself. Another reason you should never make your WiFi login info the same as your routers login info.

Redirecting your webpage request to a fake but official looking page to get you to input your login information so they can record it has evolved into hackers buying bulk lists of email addresses and using software that generates possible password combinations. This is why you get emails, posts, and/or messages from your friends or family about *** drugs and weight loss teas.

The chances of you being hacked by lowering (NOT ELIMINATING) your security settings are very low. It is much more likely you would be a victim of the previous mentioned methods.

But, i can't blame you for being cautious. So i offer you an alternative.

You could mitigate a large portion of your risk by triggering (NOT FORWARDING) ports on your router for better connectivity. This is a more secure way to direct traffic with ports that close again automatically when not being utilized and may resolve your issue. But, if i am correct in assuming it is an ipv4/6 issue this may not work for you.

Lastly, you may want to try contacting your ISP and see what they have to say about the issue. Utilizing ipv6 or ipv4 exclusively may also help.

Please keep in mind. I am not a professional. I am just a guy with insomnia.

Best of luck in getting this issue resolved.

Not as bad the last couple of times I played but still getting kicked within a couple of hours, better than every 30 minutes but still a problem.
