Nightblade but like Sorcerer

VipA
VipA
I chose Nightblade at the start of the game without knowing - YES ... I'm a newbie

I like using the destruction staff and also the restoration staff as well as a variety of spells but what I'm thinking is ... will I regret this accidental choice of nightblade later by playing the sorcerer ?
If I had chosen the sorcerer what would be better or beneficial to my style because tbh I don't fancy starting again and doing what ive already done

Lvl 17 at moment and done 37/37 in Auridon + Khenatris Roost Quests (Xbox One)

Any help , advice welcomed :)

It's ultimately your decision, but consider that if you keep playing with your Nightblade and later find out you like Sorcerer a lot more (like I did), it'll feel like an even bigger waste. I'd say give it a shot and see if you like it.

Personally while I'm fond of playing a dark-magic-wielding ranger, Nightblade seemed too "bloody", and the abilities felt difficult to control. Sorcerer on the other hand feels like the "cold night" type of darkness, and it actually suits me really well gameplay-wise.

These things change over time and MMO companies deliberately shift OPness around. In version 1.5 magicka nightblade was very strong - one of the best builds. Now they are merely middle-class. Sorcs were underdogs in 1.5 and now OP, as stamina NBs. When next major update comes, probably something else comes along.

Magicka based NBs are decent for end game even though they do have somewhat lower dps compared to magicka builds at the moment. This because they have off heals futility which some people mistakenly think actually matters at all. For a long time Magicka NB were the second top dps in the game though. They are powerful enough for all content though . They are a lot of fun and they do seem to be the type of gameplay you might be looking for.

For PVP they are still decent and if ZOS decides to fix nirn they will be even better.

I do expect and hope that they will soon get some improvements in terms of dps and some actual true utility as in 1.5.

Having done some research and taken your comments into account I think i'll stick with this character

But just to add - I've not invested any skill points into the nightblade class whatsoever I've mainly put them into the destruction staff and a few into regeneration staff
Should I start pouring them into nightblade class now ? and what do I put the other points into ? Magika Health Stamina ?
    Currently at Magika + 6 Health + 9 Stamina + 1

I would play it safe and pour my points into healh then magika or stammina depending on what you want outa your character in the long run. If your gonna continue doing the nightblade class then get some points into the assassination skill tree and the skill tree that give u the invisibiliy ability (sorry away from my notes and cannot remember name of this skill tree)

you never regret your choice, becouse going on you'll like to play each class.
i suggest you start all the classes in the tutorial prison, keep your time and see what you like more, then put your effort in levelling the class you like.

if i may permit, i will suggest you to start a sorcer and learn the game with it, then play with other classses.

Nightblade can rock a staff just as well as a sorcerer. In fact, if you go by class descriptions from previous Elder Scrolls games, Nightblade is probably meant to be more of a pure caster class than sorcerers anyway. But, ZoS has snipped all over the lore with nightblades running around in 5 medium/2 heavy with bows and claymores.
Nightblades dispose of opponents with a quick blade and Destruction magic. They are also skilled in Alteration magic, and are proficient in healing themselves.

Ahem, that's "a quick blade", not WRECKING BLOW SPAM

Except that ZoS kept the spirit of Elder Scrolls alive by letting you be whatever kind of build you want to be.

(Also, for the record, it's ZoS's lore, they can do whatever they want with it)
