I don't care for trophies but I agree that this is asking to much of a gamer. There will be trophy hunters that quit ESO once they discover what's involved.

Well, either they play and become an Emperor or they quit and don't complete the Trophies for this game.

I am not seeing the problem here.

Read what i say now carefully please

MMO Hundreds of people trying to get emperor, have to no life game, still may not get emperor even if you play 24/7x5

Do you not see the problem? having this as an achievement is wrong, because NOT EVERYONE can get it despite their skill because of TZ (ME) Work, Faction randomness + hundreds of others trying to get it to.

Like others, I don't see the problem. Not everyone can get it isn't an issue, really, IMO. It' a hard trophy to get, and IMO that's refreshing in games.

Surely they can't expect us to all become emperor to get platinum trophy to complete our ESO achievements that's utterly OTT and insane...

    Seeking your perspective on something.

Would you prefer if the Platinum trophy were unlocked when you hit Rank 50 in Aliance War Ranking instead of Emperor?

Since that way everyone would have access to it.

Yes because then it's rewarding people who've spent a TON of time in PVP, not everyone will get it but the people who do want it have the option to pvp a lot and get it, emperor on the other hand is RNG extreme

sorry, you don't get to shortcut this one.

    want Platinum? Become Emperor.

there is nothing wrong with this requirement. it's perfectly fine if not EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO OWNS A PS4 can get this.

So it's ok for me to work my bollocks off 24/7 and never win this because there always someone who can play longer than me or be int he winning faction? what is wrong with everyone? are you A-O F K with this? i mean there's being a fanatic fanboy and then some but this is majorly unjust for anyone who hoped to get platinum, because when a trophy can be IMPOSSIBLE TO GET BECAUSE YOU IN A DIFF TZ for example that's not right.

Maybe stop by the Alliance War forum and ask players there if they find Emperor or Rank 50 more difficult to attain.

one is possible even if it takes 500 hours, one can take 50,000,000 hours and still never be obtained, i go with option A.

Gears of war had an achievement on Xbox to kill 50,000 players online for example, not kill 3 people every day at 2:05pm for 7 days in a row...

So i play on the NA server from England, PVP is dead really up until 10pm UK time, it's active at around 5am the most, so i won't ever be able to complete with that, and that's fair?

As fair as it is for alliances to capture the whole map overnight unopposed due to the time zone they live in.
The game is an MMO, and Emperor has been an achievement in-game since the launch of the PC version.

Personally out of work on disability, and have never been Emperor.
By contrast, you can quite likely find people who work full time and have held the position. Despite the prestige hinted at by the name, there have been a ton of Emperors in the year since release.

The difference between me and them? I make excuses not to get Emperor, they get up and do it.

    Guide to Emp

1.Get yourself a nice, big pvp guild that likes to zerg
2.Get some friends in the other alliances
    3. On the day a campaign resets, have those friends come and die on a resource your alliance owns, repeatedly, while you stand there and collect the AP
    4. When you are number one on the leaderboard, have your zerg come and take the emp ring keeps while you madly repair walls and doors behind them to stay on top (preferably at 3 in the morning)

    5. You're Emp! Congratulations for all your hard work!

Well prob because you're unemployed you think like that to people who have little time in comparison.

Have just never found the Emperor position appealing enough to engage in the gameplay associated with it.
If it were really to my desire, would have joined an organized PvP guild ages ago and just farmed out the achievement like everyone else.

My favoured modes of PvP in Cyrodiil is playing Solo or Duoing with my girlfriend in small-scale engagements.

These naturally produce less Alliance Points than other modes of play such as large group PvP, siegeing and defending, or playing 1vX.

Emperor as a position has been farmed to death though. So many players cycle through and trade the position that ZOS is looking at removing the benefits that are provided by Former Emperor status.

Not an achievement hound, nor really care about a "Former Emperor" title and the dye.

But, for people that do "care"...well, maybe they (ZOS) just want the players to feel that sense of "accomplishment" that we (Us "Old Folks") used to feel waaaaay back in "ye olden times"...when we had to Earn things.

Had to earn things? Don't make me laugh. While not as old as you I still played early console and computer games where sometimes the challenge was figuring out what the buttons/keys actually did. We played for fun, for the experience, and mostly for curiosity. We did most of this with friends because these games were more difficult to come by and also to share all of the previous things with others. What did we actually earn? Cartography skills using grid paper?

That being said, in the modern age of games with trophies, achievements, and other methods of tracking progress it makes sense to allow players to work towards something. The emperor trophy is the complete opposite of this since you can be the best player but on the wrong alliance, or the best support/siege player and still never achieve this. Making it require attaining alliance rank 10 is far more plausible and still requires a ton of work. The difference is that you can work towards this goal over time and constantly monitor your progress. You still earn it, you just don't have to conform to a specific style of play to do so.

Um...Dude...I wasn't talking about earning things "in a game"....which the TOP portion of my post, the part you didn't quote, was obviosly refering to.
I was just taking a *jab* at this younger, "entitled", generation we have around now-a-days.

You would think as a trophy hunter you would want impossible trophies so when you get them you have bragging rights. Otherwise it's like a gold star on your homework. Also I could think of things they could replace it with but they obviously wanted an investment in PvP.

Possibly they could have read every book and collect every lore book in the game? How about 8 v14 characters? How many emperors could there be after two years with all the wars going on? Isn't Platinum supposed to be less than .1% of people?

I'd bet that more people have become emperor than those that have 8 v14's.

Have you seen guilds on the PS4? there's no chat box and hardly anyone is using voice chat in game, it's 1 million times harder to even organize something on console than it is on PC.

So what you are saying is that anyone who manages to organize something will steamroll the disorganized opposing forces and have a super easy time farming Alliance Points.
All the more reason to be the one to do it rather than the one to complain about how it is difficult to do.
