CriD✭✭✭My friend said he played it with a controller almost from the get go. He may be lying, but you sure there isn't in the off chance he is wrong.
If he is, they did make a new add on for controllers thought. Xbox and PS4 lol sorry my attempt at humor.0 -

Long story short, my friend got a siiiick gaming computer for free; I've never been a PC gamer, but it's nice. Anyway, he got 2 plugins for it:
One to allow xbox controller support for gaming but he has a ps4. So he got another plugin to make the computer think his ps4 controller was an xbox one.
That, my friend, is 21st century sorcery.

Steam Big Picture, PC to TV Streaming boxes, Nvidia Shield devices, HTPC (Home Theater PC's) all these use controllers.
A major segment of PC players is moving into the living room. It's a industry trend right now and ESO needs to be a part of it.
Plus if they are entertaining any plans of ESO being on VR Headsets of any kind that would require controller support on the PC also.
It's just overdue at this point. Here is hoping it will be in the next patch. Arkay willing.0 -

Lol, if we could only get button mapping and text chat on console. And pc is crying for controller support. O_o0 -
And honestly its not like we are asking for a game like world of warcraft to add controller support, which would require them to completely redesign how the game works costing millions in development.
We are talking about a game that was designed from the ground up to use a controller. The radial menus, limited skill bars, and cross-hair soft targeting speak to that.
Honestly the only excuse I can see for it not being in on day one on the PC is because they were probably still figuring out how to get the game to work properly with a controller in general.
But the console is out now. They love it! Time to give that same love to your loyal PC folks!

Just so you guys know, there are mods that allow you to use controllers in ESO...they're not native, but if you really want to use them, it is possible....we are the PC master race after all :PThis is where an image would be if I were allowed to have an image in my signature...0 -

I use them. Takes a fair amount of tweaking, but they are usable. Keyword "usable".1 -

Native support would be better, but perhaps this can be an interim solution for you?0 -
Tolmos✭✭✭✭I hope they add it for the people who want it, but I would never use it. lol I played Destiny almost religiously for a few months and the entire time all I could think was "Man, I miss my keyboard and mouse".
The only PC centric game I've played that I really felt the console control scheme was simply superior on was Diablo III. I could not for the life of me get into the PC version, but the console version blew me away. Playing that game on controller was a completely different experience, and felt FAR more exciting and interesting.0 -

My Wife and I use Pinnacle along with the Straightjacket UI mod and Mapping which tries to emulate the UI that is currently on the consoles.
It works pretty well. But Native support will blow it out of the water.0 -

Mostly because of Fable Legends and also that they want to promote cross platform play between Xbox. Also it's predicted that this is technically the last console generation but tons of people love controllers so they will be well poised for consumers moving more towards streaming services or buget console style PCs.
