Surely they can't expect us to all become emperor to get platinum trophy to complete our ESO achievements that's utterly OTT and insane...

So 0.1% of the player base will ever get to become emperor especially when UK players like me are playing on NA servers, how is it fair that you have to quit your job and no life the game at 5am in the morning 24/7 on the lowest pop faction to try and get a chance to become emperor, no its utterly tarded.

You clearly have never played a console, or know anything about the trophy system, you get a trophy in ESO for making a char, most games not even dark souls achievements are this stupid, getting a plat should be hard but possible, becoming emperor is pretty much impossible for most people, hundreds of thousands of people playing and only 1 can become emperor, you serious or trolling me, if your next reply is "oh but its an achievement then" don't bother to reply.

I kind of agree with OP. That achievement not only requires an utterly insane amount of time in PvP, but the requirement to essentially focus on nothing but PvP. Platinums require dedication, so it's understandable there may be mixed feelings on this, but I agree. That seems to be a little "OTT," as OP put it.

I am aware how trophies work. I also do not think it is as impossible as you say to get this one.

I am just one of those crazy people that think the platinum trophy should only be awarded when you have got all the achievements. This game has an in built achievement system so you should get all them you should then get the platinum.

I agree - I believe there is one game where you get a trophy just loading up the game...

This is possibly the hardest trophy I have seen. Although PS3 wipeout had some ridiculous ones...

"Greetings and salutations members of The Elder Scrolls Online community,

For any of you avid AvA fans out there, you realize how truly exclusive and difficult it can be to become the Emperor of Tamriel for your campaign. In some regards, I would say it's too difficult, and even in many ways takes away from what actually matters, the Alliance War. What I mean by this is the constant AP grind that the rise to emperorship leads to.

As the system currently stands, the #1 player in the winning alliance will be crowned emperor, assuming their alliance captures all six Imperial Keeps. This is all well in good initially, but here is where the problem arises. If this particular individual is so far above in AP to the next potential emperor-elect, if he/she is ever deposed, he/she will become emperor again if their alliance claims all six keeps around the Imperial City.

This is an issue as it leads to a never-ending AP grind. It also severely limits the availability of this great privilege, and distracts many from actually winning and defending keeps. My solution to fix this is if the to player becomes emperor and then is deposed, they will be unable to become the emperor again until the campaign resets."

I mean looks like this will be a game i will never get 100% on, and i thought knack on hard was going to be it.

You have no idea how many "Former Emperor" titles there are on PC right now. Far more people than you think will end up with this achievement. Especially when most of the campaigns are reduced to 5-day durations.

I don't care for trophies but I agree that this is asking to much of a gamer. There will be trophy hunters that quit ESO once they discover what's involved.

Alliance rank 10 would be a better requirement. It's still a ton of grinding but anyone can do it.

I will never get the Platinum for ESO...

    ...and I don't care.

I am 45 years old, and have better things to worry about than some "trophies" on a game console that mean "jack" in the "real world".

Plus...if I really ever cared about "trophies", or "gamerscore", I would have had One Account for the last ten+ years, instead of having the ten accounts I currently have.

But, for people that do "care"...well, maybe they (ZOS) just want the players to feel that sense of "accomplishment" that we (Us "Old Folks") used to feel waaaaay back in "ye olden times"...when we had to Earn things.

Well on PC i dont care about those mimic steam achievements but on PS4 having a platinum and the game 100% completed is nice and all your friends see that you have or have not completed a game, as well as your PSN profile will always stay uncompleted with games owned/completed.

There is a difference between a trophy/Gamerscore and playing a video game. Playing a game is supposed to be fun and rewarding getting a trophy should be the same. There is no requirement to get the platinum trophy to have fun right? Do you have the platinum trophy for every single game you own?

In the end playing a game is fun and relaxing while worry about a trophy is really secondary to the whole experience. The trophies and Gamerscore should be tough to acquire across all games.

Actually I do, and the highest level achievements should be very challenging to unlock. For anyone that is such a completionist that this has to be done, put the time in to becoming Emp. Load up on Redbull, get your guild's support, and take a few days off work after the leaderboards are scheduled to reset. Soooo many people have done it, and if the trophy means that much to you, you can do it too.

Had to earn things? Don't make me laugh. While not as old as you I still played early console and computer games where sometimes the challenge was figuring out what the buttons/keys actually did. We played for fun, for the experience, and mostly for curiosity. We did most of this with friends because these games were more difficult to come by and also to share all of the previous things with others. What did we actually earn? Cartography skills using grid paper?

That being said, in the modern age of games with trophies, achievements, and other methods of tracking progress it makes sense to allow players to work towards something. The emperor trophy is the complete opposite of this since you can be the best player but on the wrong alliance, or the best support/siege player and still never achieve this. Making it require attaining alliance rank 10 is far more plausible and still requires a ton of work. The difference is that you can work towards this goal over time and constantly monitor your progress. You still earn it, you just don't have to conform to a specific style of play to do so.

And the problem with that is thousands of others are doing the dam same thing, this is what is annoying me, it's not jsut open a can of redbull and play it for a day, you have to play it for 5 days straight none stop and at the end of it you prob wont get it because there a hundred others doing the same, it's extreme and forcing people to no life the game over and over again hoping that they become the biggest no lifer of them all playing 23 hours a day.

HELL and what about work and family? do you seriously have to take a week off work for a CHANCE to get it?

Former emp here. It's unbelieveably sad that you think it is impossible to get emp for what most would argue is the hardest achievement in the game. It's not suppose to be simple or easy you are EMPEROR of the game... It's meant for players who put the time in and pvp and work to be number 1. And honestly emperor is easier than masterfsher, it's a platinum trophy for a reason.

Read what i say now carefully please

MMO Hundreds of people trying to get emperor, have to no life game, still may not get emperor even if you play 24/7x5

Do you not see the problem? having this as an achievement is wrong, because NOT EVERYONE can get it despite their skill because of TZ (ME) Work, Faction randomness + hundreds of others trying to get it to.

You would think as a trophy hunter you would want impossible trophies so when you get them you have bragging rights. Otherwise it's like a gold star on your homework. Also I could think of things they could replace it with but they obviously wanted an investment in PvP.

Possibly they could have read every book and collect every lore book in the game? How about 8 v14 characters? How many emperors could there be after two years with all the wars going on? Isn't Platinum supposed to be less than .1% of people?
