Armor Passives Question

I am curious, I'm playing a sorc and so naturally using light armor (mixing in some heavy and medium while leveling as I go to get them up) but am curious about passives and can't seem to find the answer. If I have light armor passives, and I put on all heavy, do I retain all of the passives I have unlocked, or do I only get the light armor passives while wearing the light armor?

I'm just wondering the validity of heavy armor on my sorc while questing and maybe even dungeons (not worried about trials later would obviously run all light for magicka reasons later). Is it viable?

Actually, looking at the passives, three of them are only if you're wearing light armor. So that makes sense that you wouldn't retain them. I completely missed that.

I am curious still if wearing magicka heavy if its still viable to run around in.

Hi,

There are guys that wear full heavy as sorcs and pull it off,
Most of the abilities on the light armour tree assist with Regen,

So you may run into resource management issues,

Seems as it goes and in the higher levels it may just take some finagling. Thank you Johngo, will definitely be scourign those videos.
