PS4 NA - Where has all the Campaign Population gone?

I know I'm from the UK timezone and play on the NA server but even now at 5pm my time nearly every campaign is dead pop especially AD which i play as. Did i make a huge mistake playing on the NA server? i came here thinking overall the population would be better like it is on LOTRO 24/7 but the supreme lack of population in PVP for me can't go unnoticed.

Thats what Ive thought too. Two non-vet campaign is just embarrassing. PS4 need to go free to play. ESO was almost 1.5 year on PC and was released only on next-gen consoles so because of that sales are low, we are lucky to have 1 Campaign honestly, when the launch is over. PS4 is free to play platform anyway.

The majority of players are no doubt leveling before going into PVP.

Lol game just released and you want it free to play? Ever though some people didn't port over from pc so they are focused on the story and quests first and some people honestly don't care about PVP

You see that;s what i was hoping and would expect, in the beginning PC was full but also at night its all nearly maxed out to at 6am UK time which is obviously a no go for me most days, The population at 6am UK time is like i said nearly full which shows its good but with me on the US server it seems dead at others times which i did not expect even on a US server.

Population is serious issue. I really doubt we get one full Campaign after launch is over, if you compare to PC, PC had 9 Campaign at launch and now 2. So what happens we you have 2 Campaign at launch? Of course theres possibility that most people are leveling and they need to add more Campaigns later. Im going to be pissed off if we dont get one full Campaign for PS4 and Zen better do something.

I know a lot of console gamers quit ESO because it wasn't exactly like skyrim lol... i've actually heard many people in game on mic say they don't like it and it's not what they expected. I started up the PC version to check the pvp pop this morning and not only was i surprise don the EU server by how many people were int he starting city but also the pvp pop was quite good in the morning so must be a lot better now at least 4 pvp maps were medium ish full, but mostly from my 5 min on PC OMG HOW I MISSED THE CHAT BOX, why are they not adding this to PS4? we need a dam chat box!

Lots of people quit after launch, it happens to every game and it isnt too early start to make F2P it doesnt happen in 1 night. Lets just hope Im wrong and they need to add more Campaigns later but it doesnt look good now and alot can change in 6 month if population start to go down.

I have to admit, that, as my first MMO, this is a strange experience for me, and I'm on PS4.

Fortunately, I certainly didn't expect Skyrim at all.

As most consolers are in no way prepared for the MMO environment, I would guess that @Sausage is right that many of them have dropped out, since there is very little control over difficulty and customizability and most aren't used to the interference of others in their game. I would suspect that the lack of true "solo" missioning may scare a few people off as well.

Me, I'm going back to Witcher to finish my first game and maybe start all my games over at Oblivion.

this, I want to be level 50 with a strong group before I hit pvp. Played a few keep captures and its immensely fun nut I would rather hone my skills.

Are you telling me that the game isn't f2p for you ps4 users? Are you talking about the ps4 online service you need to buy? This game not worth a sub, and we PC players haven't seen any new zone content since the release of craglorn lower and upper like a year ago. The patch sizes of 2, 5, 10 GB that we PC players put up with, every bug fix time, is sad as well. Best of luck to you console players. It is my opinion that everything going for ESO is counting on good console numbers since the PC version nearly past on in its first year.

I just don't feel like going into PvP right now. I tried it and had to waste 5 minutes trying to ride to a mission only to have someone 4 levels lower than me kill me in 5 seconds somehow....Unless a FPS games I tend to avoid PvP cause it just gets more annoying. I will go back in but need to find a few more friends before I decide.

Why must we pay PS+ to play online though? the PC gamers play for free on their servers and they make their money from Crownstore/DLC and the huge cost of the initial game, why must we pay a PS+ sub to play it when they also have a crown store? because PS server are certainly not worth the PS+ price when their servers a few days ago were soo slow it took me over a day to download a 15 gig patch...

That is a sony thing far as I know. As in, Sony wants their money too. How much does it cost for the playstation plus?

You have to have PS+ to play. So it is not free. PS3 was free :) Neither PS4 no xbox1 are not free anymore.

Some of us loved the game and got fully hooked but then the 15gb patch hammer came along. I was excited to get on last week when I had a few hours spare but nope. I'm not so giddy to get back to it now to be honest.

Simple. The majority of players stopped playing after they ran into veteran ranks. The appeal of the game just dies for most people when that happens.

When the sub fee was still a thing, Sony was not going to require PS+. Only when it was removed did they decide to implement it back in. I'm not so sure a lot of people have made it to VR yet. Could be wrong, but just my opinion. I feel it's just a lot of players on console don't have much experience with mmo's. We all know they can be a bit overwhelming not knowing what to do when your a noob to them, though again, just my opinion. One can only speculate.

I don't know if it is necessarily a lack of experience or not. There's a lot of things you got to take into consideration. First, console gamers are a bit more casual about playing games than PC gamers, imo. Sure there are some hardcore gamers out there on consoles, but you're less likely to see people rush to veterans rank as fast as PC gamers would. There's also the fact that Console gamers do not obsessed over one game too much, they tend to play different games at the same time more than I think PC MMO gamers do. There is also a bit of an intimidation factor in play as well because of the PC transfers over to consoles. Most people are probably not bothering even doing the PVP portions just yet because they don't think it is worth it right now, whether their opinion is valid or not on the matter. Lastly, I can buy into the argument that a lot of people are new to the MMO genre as well, and still trying to get a feel of the gameplay. Just a lot of variable in play right now on the console versions of this game, I believe.

As a PS4 Player I will say this...

I don't go into PvP right now due to the PC Crossover Players.
I went in several times just to see what it was like...only to be killed in one shot by PC Crossovers that were 5,000,000,000 levels higher than me.

Maybe others had the same experience, and are also waiting until they are a bit higher level to have at least a *slim* chance of surviving more than 30 seconds. ;)

Or...it could just be that the music smells purple even though I put the car in the oven.

I'm leveling first. Had to play with a few characters so it slowed me down a bit. VR 1 now with my DK vamp pyromancer/healer. I did take him into the non vet campaign a bit and he absolutely wrecks in a group or 1v1. 2v1 or 3v1 i get slaughtered lol
