The rez to keep has been brought up, but PvP folks were concerned it would lead to blood porting. And they have a point.

I don't know either, but getting eaten by Slaughterfish is always a fun way of getting out of Cyrodiil.

Normally fights break out at keeps or resource hubs, at least the fights that carry weight in a campaign. If you are fighting NPC's you are most likely not taking part in the actual "War efforts".

Blood porting is one of the worst PvP mechanics in this game. That's why they removed forward camps, because people abused the system.

I still don't understand, what is blood porting? and why does it require different rules for npc death vs player death?

How is:

rezzing at entrance to cyrodil then transitus shrine to the desired faction controlled checkpoint

any different from:

dying from an npc and just rezzing at the desired location?

Further how does this create an abusable system? It only eliminates the unnecessary transitius shrine movement that people who die from a player don't have to deal with but people who die from an npc do...

Right so even more so why can a person not pick the WS they res at like in the entire rest of the pve and pvp game?

Unless a player killed you, you ress at the nearest wayshrine.
not the nearest 'transitus shrine'. the nearest WayShrine. As stated.
Cyrodill has only 2 wayshrines, one at each gate of your alliance, you ress at the one closest to your death spot.

Transitus Shrine =/= Wayshrines.

If you're dying pve deaths in Cyrodiil...

A. You're doing Cyrodiil wrong.

B. You're terrible.

If there is transitus connecting or you are within a reasonable distance already, yes.

@LrdRahvin , you've obviously never:

• Stepped wrong and taken stupid high fall damage.
• Gotten stuck in the environment.
• Had a no-skills/weapon swap bug that did not allow you to defend/retreat.
• Experienced any lag in Cyrodiil, ever...

Nope, never have...but then, I'm just cool like that

Originally you could however this mechanic quickly became abused as people would use NPCs to bloodport to other keeps all the time which is why it spawns you at a wayshrine now.
