Questions on armor sets?

Looked but couldn't really find much about armor sets and their bonus stats. Well for those of you in the know , I have a few questions.
In prior games set pieces were accumulated following certain storylines etc. Honestly alot of those sets often had stats that really didn't make much sense for the class they were intentioned to benefit. Do sets represented in this game make better sense? Are they fairly straightforward towards certain classes and if so , how do these figure in all the possible builds each has?
Are sets even really viable? Often in my experience with collected sets from other games such as Diablo III , even Oblivion and Skyrim , by the time you get all the set assembled most of the sets are pretty much useless as a whole. Sure , maybe one or two might have some use for a couple levels , but overall , they often pale to other items more level appropriate.
Basically I am just curious if it's even worth it to bother with them. Any info you could provide is appreciated.

NBAballar18✭✭Idk if you mean when u find a piece of armor and it says if u have the rest of those specific armor pieces u get extra bonuses from them. I just blacksmith all my armor so much better0 -

Sets can be very powerful. But when leveling up, crafted sets are going to likely be better, because you can make the armor all at the same level as long as you have the right number of traits researched.0 -
FelixTheCatt✭✭✭Yeah sometimes I'm not very good at explaining what i'm getting at. Thank you both for the info. These beginning levels best to stick to what I can craft and adding my own enchants. Some of those full set buffs are something to look forward to though.Xbox - Kuchini07
