Veteran Levels - Cadwell Silver & Gold

First off, I know there are a lot of threads and other discussions for the exact same thing I'm about to say, but it's all a little confusing to me with the older pc discussions and different changes that have been made to the game being on the xbox one side of things.

With that being said.. this is absolute ***. I don't want to work for the enemy side with my current character. I figured that's what alts are for plus after all that leveling in my main area the last thing I want to do is go level up in another zone that's pretty much the same thing going from 1-50. I want to experience end game content this is a sorry excuse for that.

What I'm really wondering though is there another efficient way to level up VR without doing more quest. (The thought really turns me off from the game I hit VR1 3 days ago and have trouble getting back on to do more QUESTS.) It sucks because I was really enjoying the game up until that point.

BTW - GROUP FINDER... WTF???

Once max level is set to 50 when Vet Ranks get removed (coming this year, supposedly), you won't need to play through Cadwell's quests (okay you don't NEED to now, but leveling V1-V14 in PvP only/mob grinding is excrutiating), so you can just tell Cadwell to shove his Light of Meridia where the sun don't shine after finishing the Main Quest

And then there are people who think that you should also be able to play with and level up with players of opposing factions because their friends didn't make characters in the same alliance...

Because who needs a consistent setting?

Is there any kind of thread or information that's solid on this? It's probably easy to find, but I gotta say.. I'm not the brightest individual.

I'll try looking for it, but ZOS said the removal of Vet Ranks would be in 4 phases.
Phase 1 (July 2014): reducing overall difficulty of Vet Zones.
Phase 2 (November 2014) : removing Vet Points and making it EXP again, with 1 Vet Rank=1 million EXP points.
Phase 3 (March 2015): adding the Champion System.
4th and final phase (TBA 2015): removing Vet Ranks altogether. Supposedly, Max level will be set at 50, but I don't know if this number has been officially confirmed.

I put this up in another thread but I'll post it here too to help you.

Quakecon video Starting at 37:28, Paul Sage begins talking about the changes from VR to CP (Champion Points). He said the new system will come in 4 phases. If you look HERE it says 3 phases, so they've changed even since July 8th. Here it is in a nuttshell:

Phase 1: Reduce VR difficulty more in line with 1-50 progression [Completed].

Phase 2: Removal of VP to plain old XP, but still retain Veteran Ranks. Also rested XP with this Phase [possibly patch 1.3* here in a week or 2].

Phase 3: Champion System introduction [likely 1-2 months away].

Phase 4: Introducing new Gear, called it Seasons with each previous Season being purchasable [likely 3+ months away and continual].

    * = Not listed in PTS 1.3.1 patch notes here.

Note that I'm at work right now and Youtube is blocked, so I can't watch the video in question >_<

If you can watch it, does it actually say what I think it says? THat phase 4 is the final phase and complete removal of Vet Ranks, or just the seasonal costume thing?

some of you seem confused removal of vr and removal of cadwells/silver gold are not the same thing

In addition to that, veteran ranks aren't going to be removed for quite some time, if ever. You might as well suck it up, gain access to silver/gold and make it to VR14.

I know they're different. I'm saying that with Vet Ranks removed, there will be no need to do Cadwell Silver or Gold anymore.

skill points and skyshards. what we actually need are more zones and content as a viable alternative to silver and gold. maybe we should encorage the devolpers to concentrate on that options are always good as are new things.

Allow me to re-phrase: it won't necessary to do Cadwell's to get from V1 to V14 at a decent pace, since lvl 50 will be the new max, and is easily attainable through your faction's zones and Coldharbour.

I'm not saying remove the option of Cadwell's zones when phase 4 is implemented. If someone wants to do them, they can knock themselves out. But I'll never be heading back there.

yes but by the same token why focus on that when they could add new stuff instead of rebalancing what we have already and potentialy nefing folk

You'd have to ask ZOS, but they've been working on it for a year, so it's unlikely they'll reverse the decision to implement phase 4 now.

Someone else brought up an excellent modification that could work in Sir Pot-on-Head's jewelry quests, so I'll paraphrase it:

    1. When you get to the point where the prophet currently prepares you to face Molag Bol, he laughs in your face, reminds you that Mr. Bol is a Daedric Prince of immense power, and you're pathetic in comparison and nowhere near ready to face him, even with uber-infusion of superpowers.

    2. The Prophet then steers you to Sir Pot-on-Head, who tells you that the other two factions have seen the light, understand Mr. Bol is a clear and present danger, and they've agreed to help ...

    3. ... if you join them in their current quests to quell insurrection, zombies, bad guys and such in their own lands, quests becoming significantly tougher, since Mr. Bol is personally involved in thwarting your every move.

    4. After completing Sir Pot-on-Head's now updated versions of Silver and Gold, you are then ready to take a Special Forces super-team composed of the best of all three factions against a now weakened Mr. Bol

... resulting in an epic battle against Molag Bol, wherein you can group with up to three other players (scalable difficulty with each additional player), and a true endgame you can then say, "Oh Hell Yeah!"

At least that would make the quests fit with the story
