I understand that certain threads need to be filtered but Admins definitely take it wayy to far. I don't know if this has ever happened to you but I wouldn't be surprised if this thread gets shut down in less than 5 mins.

If you would post in the appropriate section of the forum, you'd be fine. General Discussion isn't meant for everything!

Lol "GENERAL" Discussion is suppose to be for everything....hence the general part.

    NO.

If its a request for help (ww and vamp bites etc.), it goes into "players helping players".
If a guild avert it goes into "guild recruitment"
If its combat related it goes into "combat and gameplay"
    See the pattern here?

It's GENERAL DISCUSSION, seriously man, do you understand the definition? If I am being particular or searching something SPECIFIC then I would enter those topics. Seriously, since when did people start getting so sensitive?

If its for everything why do we have all these sub categories? Seems aweful odd eh? You are supposed to put your posts in the proper place. That way GD doesnt get crowded with say tech support questions etc. Its how every moderated forum works.

Then what's the point of having a topic called GENERAL DISCUSSION if there is a category for everything it? I wasn't looking for anything specific nor was I looking for any help. Just made a statement on a general subject.

If you're fishing for a definition then - It's for general topics that don't fall into a specific category obviously....

if the topic falls into a specific category it's not general and therefore doesn't belong in general.

LMAO INCORRECT!!! Even under the description on this site under General Discussion it reads "The place to discuss a variety of ESOTU-related topics" Yeah that's right RELATED TOPICS. Do some research man.
You might take a break ;) you clearly have too much to worry about.

I really don't man. I'm just a big fan of the game who makes observations. If you decide to reply then that's on you of course.

If its a request for help (ww and vamp bites etc.), it goes into the sticky megthread for your appropriate console and server in "players helping players".
If a guild avert it goes into "guild recruitment"
If its combat related it goes into "combat and gameplay"
    See the pattern here?

Fixed that for you @Cuyler ;) Don't want to confuse anyone.

Oh and something I noticed.. when a thread is moved - it shows as locked (at least one recents) in reality the thread isn't locked.. just moved. (Maybe behind the scenes the forums make it act like it locked it in that specific topic and created a enw one in the right place? I dunno) So maybe they're not as moderated as you thought - if that was part of what you noticed.

In the message they sent, it was stated that the message was deleted. Thanks though

And I remember when they used to sink threads. :) Particularly, back in the early days when the game was really struggling and there was a lot of hate (you think there's hate now ... ?)

I also remember if you ever typed "Oblivion sucks!" (or something like that, IIRC) on the Bethesda forum, it would change your post to "I love TES!" :)

It was a simple question of whether or not Crafting should be a man focus early on or something along those lines. I wasn't going into specifics or w.e. It was a General question and didn't post it under crafting because i didn't want a biased answer. It was a yes or no type of thing. A very basic question.

Fair enough. It's possible your question was general enough.

What you need to understand is that if everyone decided to post into general with any and everything because of whatever reason they had to not post in the appropriate sub forum, the general category would be chaos. It's bad enough at the moment with the majority of new users using it as the "everything" category. I hate to see it get worse than it is now.

I'm not one to get heated or try to be offensive, so I do apologize for coming off aggressive. I simply had a general yes or no question type of thread and was completely denied. Just made a statement regarding my experience and was curious if other people shared the same feelings. I really didn't mean for this to become an uphill battle.

To answer your question....crafting tri pots (alchemy), food, psijic ambrosia (provisioning) and nirnhoned (blk smth, ww and cloth) are the only crafted items that pull any sort of value for crafters atm. Most other crafting (armor/weapon sets) is done cheaply and sometimes for free within guilds. All these high value items are achieved later on at max crafting levels. (occasionally v1-v5 food and drink sell as well)

In other words crafting for yourself shouldn't be a main focus early on. Try having a guildie craft you what you need early on. Focus on deconning, daily writs and researching to level crafts so when you do get to max you can make the nice stuff.

Edit: Note that Alchemy and Provisioning have passives that increase the duration of food and drink therefore important for every character to have.

I can answer this. Seeing that you're new, you weren't around on the forums when there was no general discussion forum. At the time the customer service sub forum ended up being a catch all for suggestions, complaints, questions and game discussions. The mods would really like people to use the categories. They grudgingly added the general discussion, by player suggestion, to keep people from flooding the other sub forums. And that's the point of it, though it really should be the miscellaneous discussion forum.

Thanks for the information, didn't know all that. It's kind of like a double-edged sword. People say post in sub-category to not flood the General Discussion board and now I hear the General Discussion board was added to not flood the Sub-category. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I was new to forms when I started posting in this game, my first thread was locked but the moderator gave a reason for it (which other game mods NEVER do) so I went and read the Rules of Conduct and since that point it hasn't even been an effort to avoid threads locked or posts edited/censored. Just learn the rules, but the wiggle room is there my friend. It's just tricks, you'll see. ;)

I agree with the OP... I believe I have a phone number for who you need to call to make a complaint. I had to after being told I was warned over something. I'm 33 and I don't attack people on the internet. Heated discussions I think are good for forums, it shows passion and emotion, name calling has no place anywhere though.
