Ok here's the skinny. I'm an old school Elder Scrolls player/MMORPG. I started playing ES with the original Arena (That's Elder Scrolls 1) on board my ship the USS Avenger back in 1995 and have played every ES since then. My first MMO was EverQuest just after the Velious expansion. I met my wife online and we've been gaming in every MMO ever since, well most every MMO. EQ, EQ2, WoW, Allods, DDO, Neverwinter, Vanguard, Rift, and even gave Dragon's Prophet a shot. Now I've started playing ESO and trying to find a guild that I can call home and has mature and patient players as I am an older person but just learning the in and outs of ESO. I've found that ESO is just a bit different that it's predecessors in some of it's mechanics. I've never been much of a Raider nor a PvPer, however willing to try anything. Mostly looking for some good people to "hang out" and group with in ESO. So any guilds out there fit my bill?

I belong to 5 guilds, mostly for trading. I joined Lone Wolf Help guild because I mostly played solo, but needed a group for end game play. I don't know if it's for you, but check out the website.

One of my guilds is The Old Timers Guild. It's on the NA server and is an Aldmeri Dominion guild. It's a play as you want style guild and we have all kinds of old timers who play the game in various ways. This is a multi-gaming community and the ESO branch has about 400 members now.

Am a whimsical Generation Jones gamer. Online RPGs hooked me since '94 and no sign of stopping soon...

Thank you all for the responses both comments and PM. I'm looking over the various guild web sites and I have another question. I'm really interested in the Voice chat option. I find that typing chat is a bit more difficult in ESO than other MMOs I've played so I believe that voice chat would be most helpful. Are the vent/team3 channels actually occupied and helpful or are they like the typing chat and full of nonsense and or flamers? I'm all about joking around and what not but not into flaming someone or 100+ Chuck Norris comments. Not that I don't like Chuck Norris just gets a bit much at times. Thanks in advance

Hi, SabastianHawk. I'm Sue, guild leader of Antique Ordinatus Populus. Allow us to introduce ourselves.

    Who are we?

We're a group of over-the-hill folks (in our 40s, 50s, 60s, and so on) who want to play and chat with our peers. Like the song says, sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name. And gets your jokes. And knows who the Beatles were. And maybe knows where they were when Kennedy got shot.

We're on the North American server. Officially (for PvP purposes), we're based in the Aldmeri Dominion, but we represent all factions, all races, and all classes. We defy labels. We're not a PvP guild, a PvE guild, a crafting guild, or a trading guild, although we can do all those things.

We're a meeting place; a refuge from the frantic and hysterical youth who run around like their pants are on fire and rush through the game not having any real fun. We're a jumping-off place from which you can group up with other members for a little adventuring or questing, or trade goods and materials to level your crafting, or just chat. We have a chat room on the website, a Mumble server for voice chat, and of course guild chat in the game.

We're laid back and fun-loving, and respectful of each other. We have real lives and know that those real lives have to come first, but we sure do love our virtual lives.

Stop by and see who we are at antique-ordinatus-populus.enjin.com

If you like what you see, fill out a short, painless application and join us today!

P.S. We have a Mumble voice server that we use for chatting and group play. It's not compulsory, so you never can tell who you'll see on Mumble or when. We get silly sometimes - okay, a lot - but it's not like Zone chat in the game with all the teeny-boppers and the flaming, because we are a bunch of Old Farts and our guild has been designated a Drama Free Zone.
