This thread title is deliberately misleading, and frankly untrue. Please refrain from doing that. Seriously, rumor-mongering is not helpful to anyone.

To clarify, we have not said "No race change, no racial re-balancing." We have stated (both here on the forums and in ESO Live) that we are starting with small adjustments to existing racial passives, first.

I am sorry but I think it is your no-damn-major-content-update-for-more-than-six-month [snip] that leads to the rumor-mongering itself. Now please go to work and get those long-promised contents pushed out so that players have something real to do instead of posting here.

I wasn't trying to be misleading at all. This is what I gathered from what I've read and saw on ESO Live. I'm not rumor mongering. I'm just confused and frustrated.

Why do you even start such pointless posts? Seriously, 70% of all posts on game forums are created by people who have nothing better to do. Get life people.

In all fairness, isn't 99.9% of all game activity by people who have nothing better to do, or are avoiding something 'better' to do?

I include myself in that rhetorical question.

Well, you just got an official (Albeit smack-down  ) response from ZOS. I hope that cleared up any confusion.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Awesome.

Given ZoS' track record, that's hardly a smackdown. After all, the game has remained a subscription based service to give us the updates we deserve, and Veteran Ranks are now a distant memory.

I realize @ZOS_JessicaFolsom has to toe the company line, but the company line is frequently hype and empty promises. The fact of the matter is that race changes, much like 'barber shop' appearance changes, have been sought after for quite some time, and there's been zero movement on any of it. Nothing the OP stated is inaccurate, and the response is simply a PR manager responding to manage community perception. Don't get me wrong, I'm not faulting or condemning Jessica in any way, but what she posted is at best hopeful intentions, and at worst deliberate obfuscation of available facts (propaganda). There is no current intention to allow race changes, although they are 'thinking about it.' That is the canned response to demands someone has no intention of fulfilling, anyone with a four year old has used this tactic. And much like a four year old, it's probably a good enough response because in a few weeks there will be another complaint of the week on forums.

    Well said, @firstdecan!

If that were the case, what would be the point of choosing any specific race to play outside of the fact that you just like Wood Elves or whatever?

I have the gut feeling the tweaking might revolve around how 'niche' some of the passives are for the beast races. I'm all game for unique passives but honestly the passives on my dunmer have far more utility than my orc. Something like swift is very specific for orcs (increased speed/decreased cost and a boost to i believe 3 charge attacks- crit charge, invasion and the templar one) while the dunmers fire resist or flame talent seem to have a far broader use, lots skills can be effected by the flame talent tree.

No it wasn't. OP's post was deliberately misleading and intended to cause trouble. She asked him politely to not do what he absolutely did. Quit being hostile toward someone competently doing their job to support someone who probably doesn't have one.

They can talk about updates on their Twitch stream but then they need to do a write up and put it in writing on the forums. Still do not understand why they won't or can't do it?

There is nothing in the professionalism that prevents one from correcting a person who is spreading false information about you. I'm amazed that they give you whiners as much response as they do. Their patience is remarkable. If it were me I'd be deleting these threads left and right since there are no less than eight dozen of them on the same subject, but they let you guys carry on.

Guess you just had to be here from beginning. But this would never have happened if they would just put it in writing then sticky it to GD. Again what is said on video and then gets translated by a gamer may be wrong yes.

Look at it when you were in elementary school and the teacher went and whispered something in a students ear and told to whisper it to the student behind them. At the end it will be nothing like what the teacher said.

When it comes to remarkable patience, no one knows more about this word than us ESO players. We are so extremely patient that no major content updates for more than six months and even endless canned responses like the one @ZOS_JessicaFolsom just presented can keep us away. Tell me more about remarkable patience please.

ANYWAY back on topic, ignoring all other instigations and argumentative posts, I'm somewhat surprised they made racial passives so important in this game. Although single player, the most recent Elder Scrolls games, at the end of the day they weren't that important. According to posts I've read since I registered though, they make it sound like they can break your build.

Likewise. I chose the race of each of my characters based on the concept that I had in my head for that particular character. Any changes to the racials won't change my concepts for my characters, and I would never change one of their races. But then, I'm not a min/maxer - in fact, I will even pick non-optimal gear over better gear if I don't like the way the better gear looks on my character.

That sums up my approach perfectly.

The title says No race change, No racial balances, only "tweaks" to some of the races. Well I read this as that Zos is not doing a race change, they are not doing a racial balance, they only going to do tweaks to some of the races. Now this means to me and others that they lied about some stuff but in fact they did not. Now they have said that they were going to do a race change and they have not said that they will not do it.They never said when but they said they will do it after the racial balance reworking. They have also said that they were going to do racial changes to some of the lesser races before, keyword before, they actual do a racial balance reworking. So the title is misleading.

So now we actually know that they are doing the tweaks for Orcs, Nords, Argonians, and Khajiits and that they are coming out in the next big update. This is the only concrete info about this subject. All the other info that came from Zos were just them saying that they will do it but they do not know when an and now we know it is coming the next update. All the other rumors and stuff is just speculation from confused or bored players.

The only thing I've heard them say is that the racial changes will happen, but that they will make changes first before rolling them out. This is exactly what I expected - the changes first. A future patch will probably have the change option added to store (hopefully not too far in the future).

Probably those races were mentioned b/c the health regen bonus is what is the most useless one in the game and hopefully they are changing that one.

In truth it doesn't. In the most extreme cases the difference between the most suited race for a build and the least suited race is 10-15% dps ,and a bit better resource management . This is the most extreme case and there is quite a spectrum of suitability between race and build. It just happens that Argonians are usually the least suitable for many build and they are quite a popular race.

OK lets say they do race changes. But you never bought the Imperial Edition so you could play any race in any Alliance? So will they only be able to pick from the other two in that Alliance or will they have to also buy the Imperial Edition if they want to go to a race out of their Alliance?

Never seen anyone say how it will actually work!
