I owe ZOS an apology (or two)

I owe ZOS an apology. Actually, I owe them two.

I stubbornly refused to try ESO at launch because I didn't think it could live up to what I wanted the next Elder Scrolls title to be. When ESO dropped their subscription I decided to give the game a try. I can't believe how much I have enjoyed this game. I've been playing for almost three months and finally have my first VR14 character and have moved on to alt leveling.

The game offers a beautiful world to explore. I've been so pleased with the quality of the quest writing. They seem to have found a great balance of brevity and story telling that keeps the easily distracted like myself engaged. I love the mixture of humor, Elder Scrolls lore, nods to past games, and the introduction of new stories that we can immerse ourselves into.

So, I realized almost immediately how wrong I was to have not trusted ZOS, for which I owe them my first apology. And I also apologize for not apologizing sooner, but I was having too much fun playing to come to the forums.

Keep up the great work, I appreciate all you've done to deliver this game that feels like you've crafted just for me. I hope you accept my apologies.

Yes, it's a good game. A few flaws, but what game does not have a few flaws?

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yes the game is great, but it just leaves you with the feeling that ZOS was trying for so much more than what was actually delivered...

Be it because of the employee firing squad that went down a few months ago or budget cuts from higher up the food chain..

Games foundation was there but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see there were disruptions from somewhere along the way out the door.

It's pretty fun up until then.

I've finished Caldwell's Gold and ventured a little into Cyrodil for PvE quests to get up to VR14.

So it was YOUR fault we went Buy2Play!!!!!! :rage:

Lol. Just kidding @Tessie. I do wish, though, that more people would have given ESO an honest chance. We want ESO to be around for YEARS to come!
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

@Gidorick I take full responsibility for the game going B2P. It was all me.

Its funny because part of the reason I didn't try the game sooner was because of the subscription, but now that its B2P I've been subscribed for 3 months, and have bought extra crowns so my characters can dress up pretty, ride in style, and have cute little companions to accompany her on her journey. Silly me.

Yup. This. I found the forums out of boredom and noticed there are many complainers on here. The people actually in game I talk to love the game. They love the world the quests the voice chat.
But most players are too busy playing to come onto the forums and actually say so.
As a result zos may be getting a very skewed complaint driven feedback.
Thanks for joining the 98 percent of us console players lovi ng the sub free voice chat driven social interactions of the ESO.
    I love this game too.

Wish I could have done the same "But I am on console now so no caps for me" lol

But honestly I found a lot of nods to the older games in the series and do love them.

TBH I was actually made fun of and laughed at by a few of my guildmates when I told them about some of them.. One actually asked me if I was into the ES lore and actually listened to the quest dialog and then laughed at me. Then I laughed at them when they get into those situations when they have to remember what was actually said from the quest giver.

My favorite is when you see nubs in the AD faction doing the first starter quest where you have to get a costume to get past the guards and they are getting B-Smacked over and over because they just smash the {A} through every quest giver and do not pay attention lol.

Ive been following the forum for more than a year before i bought the game on console(i played beta on pc but i dont think that count). I was afraid to be disapointed after reading alot of negative topics on the forum. Only to find out that people that cry on the forum are just a minority. I see ALOT of people in game including my friends who are really enjoying the game. Sure it aint perfect bit nowadays, nothing is perfect and you can satisfy every single person because we are all different, and that does not apply only to gaming.

I am really enjoying the game, keep up the good work ZOS. I hope to see alot of new content in the future.

    You have to understand two things;
    1) the forums can be depressing
    2) the players on the forums (who have been around for a year) LOVE this game, and that passion makes them HATE the downfalls or problems.
Glad you didn't let us deter you. If the game was truly that awful none of us would still come to the forums.

The game is good in-spite of ZOS's very poor decision making and communication skills. Add to that a few of the moderators overly sensitive natures and things can get irritating.
