Big S... well he does show up in 1 quest in Shadowfen.. and as a red snake ghost (which is what the OP is referencing)... considering there is at least 1 other quest in the zone that has an animal totem spirit level entity that shows up as the same red snake ghost model, it does make Big S look kinda low rent.I've always gotten the vibe that Caldwell is either Molag Bal (playing the long game and keeping tabs on player...and it is part of his planning the long run to actually lose).... Meridia basically says we can't even understand the basic concepts of the games they are playing... or maybe he's Uncle Sheo... ganging up on Good old Molag. Hes kinda chummy with Meridia for someone who is supposedly an Ant compared to her.. and Caldwell's gold and silver really doesn't seem to be under her kinda of umbrella of influence.

it isn't. but the exact same red snake ghost model is used for big S on the other side of the zone when you get a set of Sithis fang daggers out of a ruin. He shows up afterwards and his Argonain buddies want them for "safe keeping." Possible you don't get him to show unless you make certain choices at end of quest.
