Details on the kind of things you'd do in this app would be good.

This has to be the 100th thread on the topic, I'm sure we've even had polls concerning this question, I'd rather see Zenimax focusing on the actual game itself than spending resources on creating a app.

I would be all for it if there would've been a official API for a third party to use so that they could outsource the production to the community, but in general I don't see this as anything more than a "nice-to-have-feature".

    - Inventory management

-Bank inventory management (for a gold fee)

-Crown store purchasing (so the app could actually be financially beneficial for zenimax)

    -Guild Store inventory for purchasing/selling

    -Player stat tracking and leaderboards

-Lore book access (may provide good reading material and entice players to actually read it while being away from the game. It adds to eso's immersiveness)

-Text chat (because there isn't any for consoles)

Want to vote but leaning to "No" only to be fair since not detailing App would do.

Might be great App; might be a horrible App.

I would say yes, but only if it was something along the lines of the Armory App for World of Warcraft. Where you can view your characters and their gear in 3D away from the game, a talent/skill calculator to mess around with builds, guild chat, calendar (for events).

And then also these, as mentioned by @noladude:
    - Crown store purchasing (so the app could actually be financially beneficial for zenimax)

    - Player stat tracking and leaderboards

    - Lore book access (may provide good reading material and entice players to actually read it while being away from the game. It adds to eso's immersiveness)

SO MUCH the last one, currently I am only reading a few lore books in game, since it just takes too much time out of actually playing, and I would really like to be able to read them while away from the game on my phone.

Wouldn't oppose the creation of one, so long as it didn't pull from resources that might be better leveraged in fixing the game.

Voted NO though, because I wouldn't use it.

I voted no, but have been swayed somewhat. I still want all resources fixing current problems, but am supportive of an app after the big stuff has all been fixed. 3 things I would want it to do would be active map, coinmaster, and guild management.

I have no interest in apps generally. As for one for ESO, that's fine for those that want such a thing, but not in the foreseeable future from the point of view of development resources.

Yes, as long as it is an Armory-style app that includes a Item Database.

All of these things are fantastic, as well as the armory style suggestions elsewhere in this thread.

As a GM, I would also like to see guild management functions in the app such as:
    - guild chat
    - guild bank management
    - guild roster management
    - a guild calendar (this needs to be in the game, too!!)
    - guild kiosk bid management (the ability to view and up bids on kiosks once a bid has been made IN GAME, not the ability to place an initial bid)
    - the ability to view sales for the kiosk (which would also need to be implemented as part of the core UI, rather than relying on addons for the information.)

    Anything else?

Edited to add: Please charge me crowns for this. Or, have a basic app that is free with subscription (and also purchasable with crowns) and have added features to the app (such as the guild management part) that are upgradable with crown purchases. If you give us useful items, ZOS, we will literally throw our money at you!!!

A map with in depth annotation that syncs with the in game map (you think a single map marker is adequately? I don't think it's adequate), inventory / bank management, trading / guild store access, quest / journal tracking, friends list / chat, character viewer. A companion app could be fantastic if fleshed out well.

I bet you would find a majority of console players are pro and pc players are con. I think on console its just expected that a major title will have app support in some fashion.

When it comes to ESO I see it as a great opportunity for character management, inventory management, possible trading (but would need to get authenticated or have cap to keep out bots, active map view, inventory database, and many other things. I do agree with one person that this could be great if they did a 3rd party API so someone else could develop the app or possibly do a fee for the app to support the development cycle ($3 for a really good app wouldnt be out of the question).

I would like to see an app or website similar to WoW. Doesn't have to be as in depth but it would be great to be able to look up other players set ups.

It'd be nice to be able to give friends that are new to the game advice on their gear and builds without needing them to to go through their skill tree or inventory. They could even make it so players who don't want others to see their builds can make their profile private.

As for diverting resources, it wouldn't really take that many people to work on this would it? There's probably a kid out there that has already coded this for fun.

Someone should start a kickstarter campaign to fund this :)

PSN already has one for text chat
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.
