@UltimaJoe777 : It's actually gotten much easier to find recipes you don't know because now they scale to the zone, not to the player. Before, a player that was level 40 would never be able to find a level 30 recipe no matter where they were. Now you can go to the appropriate zone and look for it there.

There is also a limited number of recipes per level that the writ asks for. I think 6?

So if you are not finding the recipes at all, you need to check what the level of the recipe is and what level zone you are looking in. That may help.

If you weren't on console, I'd offer to send you the recipe if I have a double because with 7 writs a day my inventory is just about exploding.

I actually approve of this idea. It lets players play in a manner that is less like a job and more like fun. You still do the same amount of work, but it is on the players terms, not a work-like deadline.

Yeah I know about it scaling to location I just happen to frequent Vulkhel Guard Manor because there are up to 19 containers and sometimes a safebox for me to loot there lol and the recipe that the writ requires of me is Banana Surprise which is 1 of the lowest level recipes in the game but one I have yet to find. I have found 1 maybe 2 recipes in Rawl'kha by the way. I will eventually find the recipe but finding what you want and/or need can take a good while and the more you find along the way the less new stuff you get, at least in my case.

No. Dailies are supposed to encourage daily logging in and rare items are a reward to dedicated players, not casuals.
Because it's REALLY dedicated to log in for 5 minutes every day, God forbid the 'casuals' get the same thing as someone as 'dedicated' as that.

    LMFAO.
If it's so easy, then why do you need to stack writs instead of doing them every day...?

Logging in daily to do writs on several characters (which takes more than five minutes) in addition to other activities requires more dedication to the game, or just its crafting side, than logging in twice a week for two hours. It isn't difficult... but it eats into your everyday life.
Casual players aren't entitled to accomplishing as much as people who play more. If you'd rather do something else with your limited time than writs, you can always go make money and buy the recipe/ingredients.

"Play the way you want" never meant "always succeed no matter what you do." If you don't have time to do writs, you don't get writ rewards. Simple.

^^ OMG yes to that bolded part. I'm casual and I get sick of people saying but this isn't play the way you want or that isn't friendly to play how you want. That statement is the biggest Crutch Evaaaarrrr

theres a few too many assumptions being flung around so let me elaborate a bit on my playstyle.

i also have a young family/mortgage/career etc, and i spend 3 hours a day commuting so as much as I'd like to get on in the morning and do stuff, i physically can't. That said i get maybe 10-15 hours a week in (1-2hrs a day after work) including a good chunk of time Sat/Sun morning. For me the time Sat/Sun mornings is occupied with Guild Related events (Fri/Sat night US). Believe me I would love to play 24/7! But real life prohibits that.

I'm not saying I don't have time to do writs, I just need to schedule that time. At the moment its a disappointing fit because I still do the writs, check Trader sales and all that administrative stuff. I still do my writs on a daily basis (but i'm doing them because I HAVE to, not because I WANT to), but the whole ideology behind this concept is so that we can stack them to do at a time that is far more convenient, so that I might make one day a week as administration.

If I'm in PvP one night, then the next I log in and I have to port out to Belkarth, then do what I need to, then port back into PvP (wait in the queue if there's one), this is all rather time consuming. There are far more effective ways to manage that time.

also (and correct me if I'm wrong), but isn't this stacking already how the Cyrodiil repeatable dailys work? I've noticed that if I log in to do quests in Bruma on consecutive days there are far less available quests than if I log in after a week and do them? If the repeatable daily quests work in that manner, why couldn't the writs?

Oh I bought scrolls dont get me wrong, and I usually (try to) log in daily

But I think it extends more for purpose of being in game at the time, what am I doing in game today?

Like lets say I log in for 1-2hrs when I get home from work and I set my mission for that day as AP Farming - so I want to spend my time in PvP or whatever other purpose I deem on that day

Or maybe im playing an entirely different character altogether?

Its not just the whole Psijic factor but other mats as well. Thats just an example. Since the hirelings are rather useless now it makes sense to be a little less rigid with the writ system

Its not Playing the Game the way we want if things like Writs become a chore.

I bolded the part that is the issue. ZoS is not pandering to well adjusted people who have things like jobs or otherwise limit their video game time. ZoS is increasingly pandering to the 'dedicated player' (I chuckle just typing that) who will play obsessively. They've increased the number of time sink activities, like writs, just for this audience. Meanwhile the game is just a bore for the 'filthy casuals' who tend to be the largest segment of any game.

Don't expect change, ZoS has given up on making the game fun. Now they're casting the largest net possible to find the most obsessive players who will buy garbage from the crown store. Psijic Ambrosia is a great example. It's a new in game item designed to create a sense of need in players who don't have the time to find everything to create it, and spur the sales of XP boosters in the crown store.

sadly @firstdecan there is an element of truth in that statement, and you've pretty much banged the nail on the head in proving my point.

"players who don't have the time to find everything to create it"

Meaning casual players or those with obstructive real-lives who just can't play 24/7. People like me. But unfortunately, it's us with the buying power and money not the dedicated players (I'm down close on $400 already to ZOS since launch).

Dedicated Players are not the ones buying things in the crown store. They're farming them in game. They're not spending money yet that's where ZOS is focusing their attention. It's incredibly stupid and detrimental for any business to not know their target market. Why would you focus your attention on time-wasters and tyre kickers who don't feed your bottom line when there's a broader market segment that does.

Maybe I'm still bitter about the whole F2P thing still - It just doesn't make sense to me to burn a consistent stable revenue stream all for a single point in time cash grab (no matter how big it is..). If I was to cross section one of my guilds, nearly all of us are less than 15 hour a week players now and all still ESO+ subbers. Casual players, but constant revenue.

Focusing on the 'dedicated' players means less resources to focus on the ones who aren't as full on who are the main source of revenue. The casual players then get irritated with the lack of support for their money and end up pulling the pin and so begins the exodus of funding and then begins the fun time of explaining to investors why you're posting Net Revenue losses quarter after quarter.. but I don't want to turn this into a moan and groan about F2P thread so I'll stop it there.

It takes almost nothing to level provisioning on your alts. Granted you will need to level your character as well if you want 8x Craglorn provisioning writs, but even then the recipes DO drop on the lower level writs as well. Keep a stack of the food/drink in your backpack and you won't even need to craft it. Takes literally 5-10 minutes to complete the provisioning writs on all your alts that way.

Provisioning writs are extremely easy to do quickly and daily. Max out provisioning on your character, the writs will only ever ask for the same 6 recipes for your level of provisioning, get those 6 recipes, make stacks of all 6 of those recipes and place them in your bank. Now, no matter what recipes the writ asks for, you already have them in your bank and ready to turn in as soon as you take the writ. I have 16 master provisioners across 2 accounts, and doing the writs on all 16 takes no time at all since everything is ready to go.

actually you're right on that - i just discovered that last night as soon as I took the writ. because i had the extra serves passive I had a ton of the food/drink in inventory so as soon as i grabbed the writ it says 'thank you, jolly good sir, now hand her in if you could please'. which was easy because writ board and hand in location at Belkarth are like 50m apart. that could be a way of cutting down the time involved.

Yes. I get that with my provisioner most of the time. And Belkarth is the best place to do consumable writs because everything is right there.

the other issue is the non-provisioning Writs. those unfortunately ARE time consuming. and what if in future we see other additions to the games like the Thieves Guild or even an Assassins Guild line? There could be something awesome like Morag Tong Writs where you have an NPC Assassination target in each writ (Not Nerien'eth level difficulty, maybe somewhere around World Boss difficulty?) - you would spend time trying to get to that target to begin with, so there's more time expunged.

No. There are 10 quests available every day, you can't get more. I think you can get fewer if you turn in a previous day quest because it counts as finished for today too, but I'm not 100% sure on this.

Not really. For consumable writs, I just have them premade and place them in the bank. Repeat and recycle. For weapon/armor writs, well you do need a lot more materials, but really your thread is about trying to suggest stacking consumables (mainly provisioning) writs to get the ambrosia recipe. Again, this daily is working as intended. I'm sure you mean well, but sometimes game mechanics are implemented and we don't always agree with it.
