What to do when people insist on griefing

So I was at cracked wood cave working on getting my AD sorcerer to v14 when a large group of AD kept showing up and ruining the xp. We asked them kindly to leave, and when they responded back rudely, I got on my EP sorcerer and killed them all. This continued, they would keep coming back and I would keep killing them until it was down to just two more AD that kept coming back relentlessly, just trying to ruin our xp.

So, instead of killing them every 5 minutes, I decided to get to the "root" of the problem

After holding them there for about 40 minutes, they both left. Something tells me they won't be bothering us again for a while.

If either of them are reading this, then all I have to say is thanks for playing! It gave me quite a good laugh

If i understand this right, you are playing your AD and EP characters in the same cyrodiil campaign? That should not be possible.

Zenimax should not allow you to enter the same AvA Server with Characters of different Fractions on the same day.

They showed up and started talking trash. Whenever it is more than 2 people, the experience is greatly diminished and this is a dead time. They were basically griefing us so my partner asked me to log onto my EP sorcerer so they would leave.

They will earn more xp if they go to another sever where there aren't already a ton of people.
The people who were staying were only doing it to spite us, and they got what was coming to them.

This wasn't a thread to beat my chest and declare myself the tyrannical ruler of the cave, I was merely showing what happens when people attempt to do things just to mess with others, so get off your high horse.

lot of people have 2 accounts, so it is possible in this way, the matter is he cannot pretend to make a private session in pvp, he cannot rent a delve for his own purpose. getting into rage for this is almost a think i do not want to spend more word.

It's not about that situation actually. What if they had not trash talked? Lets say you are grinding in said cave. I'm from your fraction and I also want to grind there. So I relog on my other fraction character, kill you, relogg to my main and start grinding. Whenever you come back, I relog and kill you again. With that, I would have an issue.

Also, being able to simply let one person of a DC raidgroup relog and be able to read the AD zone chat, maybe joining one AD raidgroup and being able to tell the DC raids what they are planing to do...I just dont like the abusive possibilities.

The fun fact that he wiped the group aside I think it's a shame nowadays that so many people get butthurt when you get to a grind spot as "the 3rd person".

I know a third player being in a spot will reduce the XP but this is an MMO after all so how dare some players claim grind spots for them? Not only this cave in Cyrodiil but other spots, too?

This is ridiculous...

So my mate wanted to grind out some level before his misso came over. I asked him to make sure it was clear of AD before going on the buff server. It was clear so we spent a good 20 mins before 1 dude showed up. He didn't hit anything which was pretty weird for an VR14 in Crackwood.

I was hopping over back onto my red from killing the other AD that were there and Methuselah and some other reds showed up and wiped everyone. I never said anything about making a video (what?) and my partner did ask you nicely to go since you were the extras. You specifically asked for me to get on my EP as well and you got a kill on me and then I came back and killed your friend and you 3 or 4 times expecting you to stop because you really were just doing it out of spite at that point. My friend only said I would keep killing you which I ended up doing before trapping you in the water. We had been grinding there for hours with relatively no trouble before the big AD group and then you. (I got from v2-v5)

I had been routinely cleaning up the AD (a group of maybe 3-6? Wasn't sure) and you showed up right after the other 3 EP came. Don't lie or put words into my mouth.

True story. Cross-realming being allowed has always been a silly idea. Thankfully it is being removed soon, to boot, requiring multiple accounts.

(I do sympathize with the OP on "friendly" leechers ruining his grind, but this wasn't the answer...

).

It isn't hypothetical. Common in ESO as well as other games that have made the same mistake before

. It's such an obvious and easy abuse that I have seen many people mention that they keep an alt of an enemy faction around outside the delve they're grinding so they can kill any random people who try to grind while they are. It is currently inside the rules, but the system shouldn't be this easy to game in the first place. And yes, people watch zone chat, that is why no organized or serious groups use it because it doesn't even require a 2nd account in this game, it's as easy as /camp and click your alt. SMH.

This is ridiculous...

Indeed, this is an mmorpg not a koombaya simulator. People have different goals and social preferences, and the game design penalizes everyone if there are more than 2 people around. Instead of complaining that some people care about playing well and maximizing what they get out of it, you should either compete, or if you feel the system is flawed, submit a new feedback thread explaining why and asking for it to be changed.

Fair enough. I do question how they could be trapped given they could simply have hit their guest campaign in the alliance war screen to escape regardless of combat state, though... Were they simply that oblivious to the game mechanics that they didn't know how xp works or basic UI functions like that?

Were they truly griefing, or were they CP grinding? If the latter, of course they responded rudely when you asked them to leave, they had as much right to the instance as you and your friend. You were entitled to be frustrated by this, but you cannot call dibs on a delve,to oblivion with your diminishing XP.

At that patch we all most likely will be kicked out of the area and have to reselect campaigns and such also, so no logins linger and such from the abuse, which think has been said basically
