Delay Removal of Travel-To-Player

Proposing that ZOS delays removal of the travel to player function for 1.7 to allow more time for existing metas surrounding the feature to adjust. My concern is that like all change, most don't like it, but if timed correctly needless issues can be at least minimized. Just a few examples of positive and significant metas that a large majority currently enjoy: dueling, finding better fights, avoiding lag. Yes there are negatives to this feature, but my belief is that they pale in comparison to the positives. So thoughts on absorbing all the other newness first?

    While not a fix-all, removing t2p is needed now to improve pvp health. Plus your argument can be used during any update...delaying wont help anything. Campaign jumpers will always hate the idea of removing it no matter when its implemented.

    I really dont understand why forcing people to play on just 2 campaigns when the lag begins or theres only 50 man trains running around is going to help with the pvp "health". I personally believe it will have the opposite result and will discourage players to even try play during prime time...eh sry prime lagtime. Just my humble opinion :)

    Travel to player is the one and only most abused feature of the game by large guesting zergs that destroy the balance of otherwise competitive campaigns.

    Because ad guilds (on eu ) dont seem to coordinate and dc guilds do, i see the same faces running around on thorn, taking whole map, then jumping to azura, wrecking keeps there and so on, same blue bombtrain everywhere

    I can see it is fun for them but it does got boring for the rest, so i am looking forward to the change

    Maybe you re right...i hope you re right ...i dont want to be a doomsayer. Lets hope the LoS changes actually contribute to the reduction of lag so we can actually play without 20 min lagfights.

    A solution to faction lockouts needs to be addressed before they remove the travel to player function. It should allow any character to select any campaign but have a lockout of 30 minutes or more when attempting to jump into the campaign after participating from an alternate faction. The strategies can move quickly sometimes that I think a 30 minute or slightly longer lockout would prevent "Spies" (is that still a thing lol?) from taking advantage of it.

    Spies are still a thing, but I don't think that is the main reason for the change. Anyway, I think 30 would be too short, it isn't even a full score evaluation so I'd say bump it up to 1 hour at least.

    Travel to player is the most absurd thing yes BUT we absolutely don't need to remove that now. Fix lag before removing this. It's actually what keeps people still playing around. If I stuck in a laggy shite campaign that multiple trains in it and cant join the duel events with my guild I would just log off.

    Removing the t2p will also lower the zerg sizes which will help with lag. With the removal of former emp buffs, it will also create a more defensive atmosphere. When these two things go into affect, I hope there will be a way to leave a campaign, so people with multiple toons won't be permanently locked into a campaign.

    Maybe when ZOS fixed the bad server performance we can start thinking about this change. But I don't see how being stuck with for example one of my campaigns being laggy and the other being dominated by faction this forcing me to log out would improve the game for me.

    this feature has been at the root of all the problems. Emp farming or map dominance for example. If you want to get emp call all your alliance friends. They just travel to you. What was the point of having a home and a guest campaign when you could travel to anyone in any campaign. I have personally complained about this feature since beta over a year now and finally they have realized that this work around has caused more grief than it was ever worth. So in the upcoming months when this change happens. players will have to decide on actually committed / vested campaigns where the fights will actually matter. Good for ZOS on finally solving a problem instead of just looking the other way.

    Guilds will have to decide coordinate and yes for once actually work together. is this forced cooperation? who really cares as long as the cooperation finally starts.

    Might I suggest guild leaders start working on diplomacy skills now......

    Has anyone mentioned if this will affect group queues? If I'm in a group in Haderus and we all decide to go to Chillrend, can we all move over to Chill if crown has it as guest or home? If group queue is not affected by this change then I don't care when they get rid of travel to player, but if it is affected (which would make sense otherwise removing the travel to player option would change basically nothing) then I have some issues with it.

    My concern with removing travel to player is that DC has no numbers. If one campaign is getting zerged and DC has 1 bar, will there be a way for me to go help my faction? Also, I play on multiple factions for bwb- I try to run with the underdog. This change is going to make things difficult since there is only one non-vet campaign.

    Yeah, I was trying to find a baseline to further the topic. Anything is better than a 72 hour lockout costing over a hundred thousand AP (have to spend 15k on each character). This along with other notable problems is why I rarely log in to the game anymore. It's just a hassle to get into PvP without jumping through ridiculous hoops.

    I think maybe a multiplicative "Deserter" penalty would be sufficient where the base deserter penalty (15-30 minutes) is multiplied if you want to return to the previously selected alliance.

    Let's be honest though a spy will be a spy regardless of whether or not they are logged in to another faction. You can always be in teamspeak with a traitor on the other side or communicating via PM. There's no way to stop that.

    Sorry I like t2p in pve it shouldn't be removed, however a 24h faction based lockout would be great....
    Honestly I don't get how any of this will help with zergs or spies....

    So you get rid of t2p then all players just make home the same campaign, you either get zergING or buff servers depending on what other factions do.

    As for spies...if you spy you're lame...but a second or third account is plenty to have spies where you need them...I've never tried triple boxing but I can dual box in rp (rping two main plot characters together at a large group event is a mind blow fyi) so I imagine it wouldn't be difficult to idle a character in Cyrodil and check chat periodically while pvping on the other faction.
