Interestingly enough, I've got both a dunmer DK vampire and an altmer Sorc vampire. Personally I find that when going up against stuff at-level, the dunmer DK is flat out more effective than the altmer sorc, but that could easily be about the different builds a lot more than it's about the fact that one is inherently better for vampirism than the other.

I will say this though: the dunmer does make the flame weakness noticeably less of a problem.

Personally I find the most use of vampirism in a dunmer healing templar.
The extra magica from dynamic, resist flame and supernatural recovery helps a lot to keep your magica (needed to heal) very high. Resist flame also helps a lot in countering the weakness to fire. Being a healer, the lesser health regen also means nothing to you. So all in all, you get the benefits, but not the debuffs.

It's natural resistance to fire kind of compensates for the fire weakness vamps have, tho if you dont care about fire then it's all about your preferred race.

I run dunmer DK with Destro/Resto staffs and it's working alright. Still lower level and the fire is hitting hard. Hopefully its a stronger build later on but i tend to rely on the restoration staff alot.
