Treasure Maps

Hi,

I was just wondering whether it is possible to find the same treasure map more than once?
That is, if I find a treasure map then find its chest and claim the items - is it possible then to find the same map again? Or is it the case that once you've had the map and found the treasure you can no longer find that map again?

Alternatively, if I find a treasure map then sell it to someone else via guild store, could I then find the map I sold again?

I am not talking about the CE maps, just the normal ones you can find in game.

I apologise if there's already a thread about this. I've searched for an answer but haven't had any luck finding it.

Yes, you can find the same maps multiple times (excluding the CE maps as you said). Sometimes you can find them more than once in a very short time, I've been unable to pick up a map because I already had that map in inventory. This happens to me a lot in Auridon.

This is kind of related.

The first time I find a chest I'll get good/great weapons/gear, but the second time I loot same chest I'll just find ok/good gear. Is it not worth reopening chests after you've already looted? And I mean fully looting first time and waiting out spawn

I did the rivenspire CE treasure chest and got 2 blue weapons, a blue armor piece and some other great items, I opened it second time and only 1 green and like 7g

You can loot another map of the same number ie: bankorai treasure map 1, and loot that chest over and over. You can only have one in your inventory of that number at a time though.

For instance if you are looting a random chest that has that bankorai treasure map 1 in it you wouldn't be able to loot the map out of the chest if you had that same map already in your inventory.

That's great. Thanks for the info. I've not yet found the same map more than once (may be because I've not played too much yet) so was unsure.

UTG_Zilla, obviously I can't answer your question yet but if I find a map to a chest I've already opened then I'll let you know if the quality varies.

I've opened literally thousands of chests, (I got the 1000 chest achievement a long time ago lol). The quality will vary from chest to chest and sometimes you get lucky. The CE Chests are different thought, and you only get one of those and they will have better loot then the zone map chests.

Treasure chests scale to the level of the zone they're found in but the quality and quantity of what you'll get from them is more or less random.

So if you save the treasure maps you find while in the 1-50 zones and then open them in the corresponding veteran zones the loot you get will be scaled to veteran level. Whether or not you'll get fines, superiors or epics is a total toss up.

CE maps are a little different though. They still scale but I do believe your guaranteed superior quality gear at least.

The only chest that I can remember for certain getting 2x in a row in same game (not logging off I mean) was the chest on the dock by the dreugh world boss in storm haven. the first time I got it I got a blue weapon and 50+ gold and some potions I think, the second time I got it I got like 5-7g and a white weapon
