When is steel tornado going to get the impulse treatment?

Many of you probably remember the impulse zergs back in the day, and subsequently the ability was nerfed multiple times until people stopped complaining about it.

In steel tornado, we now have an ability that has an even larger radius, does more damage, is cheaper AND has an execute.

Where's the logic, @Zenimax?

Can we expect a warranted change this ability too, anytime soon? The whirlwind zergs are out there, just like the impulse ones of old.

    Never . ZOS decided that stamina is the way to go since everyone and their granny wants to be a duel derp + blow rouge type character.Expect more nerfs to magicka skills and survivability.

    Also in before idiot talking about bathrobes , pajamas and sticks thinking he is funny.

    I'd much rather have it this way instead of the Harry potter dominated cyridiil we had back at launch.

    Revert impulse and talons then, and uncap inhale again (or at least cap it at 6 like sap essence)

    Yeah. I know most of you never actually cared about balance.

    I'm having 5+ Steel Tornado on death recap pretty consistently now when run over by a train. But we all knew this day would come.

    There's 2 skills in 1.6 that needs toning down. That is Proxi Detonation and Steel Tornado.

    Not sure what's worse. What genius came up with the idea of a stamina based AoE execute with 12 meters range, when the game requires you to stack on flags in PvP?

    Than there's the design and burst of Proxi. I've been one shot by Proxi Detonation while having 50k spell res :sweat_smile: . You can stack up every dmg buff in the game, than bolt or sneak in and explode for over 20-25k while dropping ulti simultaneously, finishing who ever is left standing.

    Magicka Detonation was suppose to break up zerg-blobs, but it's rather used by zerg-blobs to farm a lot of AP. Hardly a surprise. Public groups and randoms generally sucks when it comes to applying the latest fotm cheese.

    However, Proxi bombing actually requires a bit of skill, sneaky and timing. This while Tornado is just spamstackoncrown, Impulse train 1.2 here I come, but with another build.

    All of this could be solved by removing aoe caps (which would make trains easier to kill) and adding player collision in pvp (which would allow blocking off and "tanking" of attackers).

    So you guys already gimped Impulse and totally ruined Wall of Elements... now you're going after the only useful abillity in the Dual Wield line? Do you all play chess with only pawns because it's more "balanced"?

    My main (magicka sorc) is optimized around Proxi bombs. My future main (stamina NB) is designed to spam Tornado.

    And I agree with you completely. I generally play in organized guild groups, and that's what gameplay has become. Timed proxi bombs and steel tornado spam. Because I wear lots of nirn, the former don't really hurt me, but these two abilities, in general, dominate PvP to an extent that makes it less varied and fun.

    Proxi detonation was an idiotic implementation. Bear with my choice of words, but in this case it is actually apt. As mentioned, it takes timing to pull of and it's actually fun - but a good idea = no!

    It is a morph of Magicka Detonation. Alliance War Assault rank 7. It is very high range delayed detonation PBAOE.It was supposed to be ZOS solution to zerging. It worked well in making zerging better .

    So I know this is slightly off topic, but how would people feel if proxy detination also damaged the user a little bit? It's mostly squishy builds that use it and would add more risk to its use. I've not really thought this through, the idea just popped into my head.

    I don't think around one third of the game population should dictate what gets nerfed in the entire game. PVP will "NEVER" stop crying......It's part of PVP.

    Any PVP skill nerfs should always be confined to PVP unless the other sixty six percent of the population are crying right along with them.

    Nah, they should just acknowledge proximity and inevitable detonations for the blunders they are and remove them from the game again. Even though they are fun to use, PvP was better before them, and given the fact that they work opposite of their intention speaks loudly enough to warrant a removal.

    I agree with Flintstone, seen so many mmo classes in previous games get totally destroyed due to"pvp balance"changes, gets very annoying.

    On entering pvp all skills should be removed, just leaving normal attack and block, all armour and weapons become the same.then even though there will still be whining about it being unfair, we will all know its fair and it won't affect everyone else;)

    I agree, let's tone down steel tornado radius. Alternatively take away the execute part (but not both). Then make proximity the stamina morph and keep inevitable as the magicka morph. :trollface:

Remember you probably contributed to it's decline by crying about things like how OP DK's were in 1.5 and now you want it to stop?????? Nah, the *** burger that is ZOS attempt at balancing continues.     Steel tornado could definitely use a nerf of some kind, aoe skills in PvP in general are horrible. Hard to know what kind of nerf would make sense though and wouldn't ruin the skill for PvE. For a spammy skill it's far too powerful right now.

    Proxy det is basically a blight on the game and should never have been introduced.

    This is the kind of 'thinking' that ruins MMOs.

    PvP'ers who believe that because their favourite character class or play style suffered an imbalance, then the perpetrators should suffer the same in return.

    They complain about an imbalance and it is legit... their 'opponents' complain and it's labelled 'whining' or 'crying'.

    At the same time, they abuse the game mechanics to the maximum extent to give themselves advantage whilst disregarding the effect it has on those who are the targets of the OP abilities or techniques employed.

    They can 'dish it', but cannot 'take it', and instead of accepting that the game needs to be truly balanced, they wail that they want their turn being OP.

    Game ruining selfishness.

    This is why MMOs designers should not listen to the loudest and most strident PvP'ers when balancing abilities in PvP, especially when it impacts on the majority player base - PvE'rs.

    Why MMO companies don't get a group of the worst spec. and exploit abusers who play their games and pay them to sit on a separate PTS finding all the possible ways to ruin the game IN ADVANCE, so they can fix it, and prevent them from driving the game over a cliff with their epeen approach BEFORE game changes go live on the main server is beyond my understanding.

    Anyone with half a brain, watching the car crash of extreme imbalance followed by opposite and equally imbalanced counter swing is bound to wonder why this hasn't become standard practice...

    ... and yet, it hasn't...

    People blame the PvE'rs for Zenimax's mess, just because they complain that their game (the majority game) is made far less challenging and enjoyable?

    Why make this about 'sides'. Bad programing by the devs means THEY are to blame, not the players either side of the argument caused by this lack of competence.

    You may value PvP far more than PvE - but that means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Everyone has the right to enjoy the game their way, and if you are honest with yourself, you'd admit that you would be equally upset if PvE considerations were messing with your PvP.

    Everyone needs to stop slinging mud at each other, and throw buckets of the stuff on Zenimax by cancelling their subs, not buying anything from the cash shop and demanding better service.

    You hit a company where it hurts (their accounts) and they listen.

    If people come onto the forums and fire off random shots at the wrong people, however, they let the real culprits of the hook... and if you make too much noise about things that irritate you without considering the game as a whole, it leads to them oiling the squeaky wheel and creating more imbalance.

    It's a self-perpetuating circle of negative feedback.

    Hahaha. Man, the Blood Spawn's just salty because everyone focuses him down.
