Hey peeps,

I'm a sorc in mostly light armor (have 1 med, 1 heavy piece equipped). My question is tho, if I enchanted heavy armor to give me more magic and magic regen, what (if any) are the downsides?

Any enchant you put on your gear, is what you put there. The "Downside" is that you can pick many things, but only one at the time. So you enchant with more magika, but then dont get all the other options. You can reenchant all gear when you wish. This will override the current enchant.

For more magika, use buff food too, if you dont.

5 Light, 1 med and 1 heavy is a very good combo btw =).

Thanks for the info, however I'm asking if there is a downside of a sorc in mostly heavy armor if it's enchanted correctly?

Clearly the heavy armor has better defense, so is there any reason (besides cosmetic reasons) why I should not wear, let's say, 5 heavy pieces, 1 light, 1 medium?

You miss the passive for light armor. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Light_Armor. The numbers seems small but keep in mind it is per armor piece. So with all of the passives and all 7 armor pieces are light it is:
    - 21% reduced magica cost of spells
    - 28% increased magica regen
    - 56% increased base spell reduction
    - plus 10% change on spell critical
    - ignore 42% of the enemy spell resistance

That is a very proper base dps for magica builds.
