I run 5 magnus/2 adroit (neck)/5 cyro light (rings) - the 5 piece bonus for cyro light is great for a templar because a lot of your skills are channels/cast. The 25% dmg mitigation gives you some survivability while being in 5 light, and will work when you're using puncturing sweep/jesus beam/dark flare, which will be most of your normal dps rotations anyway.

I used to run DW for the extra spell dmg, but recently switched to sword and board and the drop in my dmg is minor but the increase in survivability is really noticeable. PLUS, you get a reflect that will help you handle sorcs. I always had difficulty with sorcs and DKs - trying to do enough dmg to get through their shields/defenses, and the best tweak I ended up making was adding soul assault to my main bar. It's pretty much the only thing that let's me tear through all of the shields floating around cyrodiil.

My normal rotation is to pop prox det, toppling charge in, puncturing sweep, then jesus beam. This isn't usually enough to break through good sorcs' shields, so you need to be able to reflect a crystal frag back at them and/or use soul assault in my experience.
