Crafting items with multiple traits?

Hi all,

I'm assuming the answer is no, but could someone please confirm, can you craft an item with multiple traits?

For example, if I have researched heavy armour cuirass traits for reinforced and impenetrable. The first trait taking 6 hours to research and the second trait 12 hours. Can I at any point create a cuirass with both these traits? Or does it just have to be one or the other?

Thanks!

No, any piece of equipment you craft can only have one trait. So in this case you can choose to have a reinforced cuirass, or an impenetrable cuirass, but not a cuirass which is both impenetrable and reinforced.

Thanks! I thought as much. I guess it makes sense to pick just one trait that best suits each item and research that. And different traits for different items for multiple benefits to your overall armour - eg. impenetrable cuirass and reinforced greaves. Thanks again!

Yes and no. While there are traits that are preferable to have and ones that are not depending on your character. For example, Training is great when your leveling something, but not needed once it's up there in levels. You do need to know more than one trait to make crafted sets, which is the real benifit of crafting. You need to know two to make the first sets, and 9 to make the top end set. Good news is, 2 and 3 trait requirement sets are powerful and can take you to end game, but there are some 5 and 6 trait sets that are just downright powerful. the 8 trait sets offer some good 2 and 3 piece bonuses, and the 9 trait set allows you to use two Mundus Stone effects.

So, while you may only need or use one trait on each piece of gear you sport (most of us run a combo of Infused or Divines on our armor and Precise or Sharpened on our weapons) you need to know traits to make some good gear.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
