Why are the items I steal bound?

Every time I pickpocket or steal something (and I'm not caught) it automatically binds to me, its usually a "Treasure item" so all you can do with it is sell it to a fence. But since it's bound, I can't sell it.

I was able to sell these when I first started playing, why do they bind to me?

Which items are you talking about ? I can personally say if you Launder items like clothing and provisioning items, I can trade it around. Are you specifically saying the green, blue and purple items?

You should not be able to sell stolen items to anyone but a fence, so if you are trying to sell them to a regular merchant or guild, stop doing that. BTW, you CAN sell bound items to regular merchants, but not through guilds.

The only ways to get rid of stolen items are:
    1. Get caught by the guards and have them confiscated.
    2. destroy them
    3. deconstruct them (the recovered resources won't show up as stolen)
    4. sell or have them laundered at a fence

Thanks, I thought that bound items were eternally unable to sell
