How can I complete provisioning writs ?

I despair. I spent 8 hours yesterday and attempted to find 1 single carrot and 1 single saltrice for the writ, but didn't find any. I started doing them yesterday for the first time and they are so hard. Are there any rules for cook writs, or do they want different meals every day ? Because I just don't know how to find all these stupid materials. I just want to do my stuff and I can't effort so many hours, riding through all areas and trying to find a damn carrot.

Someone told me, I can buy them. But no guild store has them and no NPC sells food ingredients. And I will not buy 100 carrots for 7500 gold.
Can someone please tell me where to find this ? Or can someone sell them to me ?

Post the food needed to be created for the writ(s) I will start loading the trade store to help.

To help others some food can only be found out in the open on tables or trays...

    Examples: (not complete list)
    • Carrots
    • Potatoes
    • Corn
    • Beets
    • Grapes
    • Radishes

Play the game normal.... You will collect ingredients from barrels/containers in delves or steal from towns. Some towns have groceries vendors as well for 200 gold a piece.

Or buy the made food from a trader. You only need it in your posession when you hand in writ

But nobody sells the trash food, which is required for the writs. I opened every container yesterday and not a single carrot or saltrice was in there
And I just don't have enough space to collect every ingredient :/

There are vendors in some towns and raw food mats are sold by the game at 200 gold a piece.

If you play the game normal and work on crafting after you build up your supples it get much easier....

There are only 49 provisioning ingredients in the game. My provisioner could carry 3 stacks of 200 of each if needed. It is possible.

List the food required by writs and I will start making it. You are not the only one who needs it

    FYI

You just have to prioritize .... Crafting or Leveling your character.

A year ago I tried to do both and struggled trying to level the character. Had to respec and limit crafting to only 30% of spent skill points.

End game you will have plenty of SP to do crafting.

Your choice.... struggle and try to do all now..... or take a slower approach.... or Wait till end game... Your choice

Also I am a Master Provisioner and I have never done a writ.

I have all professions on 50. I don't need to level anything :) I only need to fullfill these writs to get the fragments.

Hey thanks for that info! I just started when console launched (PS4) and had no idea you just had to have it with you and it didn't have to be crafted for it to count. That will really save me some time.....Thanks again!

Go to Hollow City then in Coldharbor and buy/steal from the vendor there.....

I am amazed you have all crafts to 50 and didn't know there were food vendors in the game.

EDIT: I maybe wrong but no Food vendor will have all ingredients...

Saltrice seems to come in sacks that specifically say, "Sack of Saltrice," or something like that. Carrots often seem to just be laying around on countertops in taverns and inns. Once you find them, they will usually always be in that same spot. You'll likely need to steal them, but using stolen ingredients creates non-stolen food/drink, so you don't have to worry about laundering the stolen goods. Once you explore the game world enough, you'll know exactly where to go to acquire whatever you need.

BTW: the Provisioning mat vendors are identified as "Grocers" when you hover over them.
Also as I understand it, the food or drink does need to be crafted, it just doesn't need to be crafted by you. The trash food/drinks you can buy from NPC vendors won't complete the Writs. Food/drinks you buy from Guild Stores are crafted by a player and therefore good to complete Writs.

Edit: Had wrong vendor as Grocer!

Correct. If your buying the completed food/drink, just make sure it is the Green crafted one, not the White Dropped one. A large number of recipes are also seen as White container trash foods.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
