Provisioning writ question

I have a low level alt that is a lvl 50 provisioner. If I put the 6 skill points into the recipe level, will the character being completing max level writs even if they are not vet level and can't go to Craglorn?

Craglorn is the place where you have to go to deliver max level writs, so i guess the answer is no. However i have not confirmed this personally.

My cook is level 38 for now, with 6/6 recipe level passives (she cooks for my vet characters), and provisioning at 50. Her writs however have her dropping the crafted goods in Velyn Harbor, and she gets a provisioning sack IV. From experience with another character, writs will start being delivered to Coldharbor when the character unlocks access to that zone via progress in the main quest, and then Craglorn when they unlock access to that zone by being Veteran rank 1.

I believe you can cheat this by porting to someone who is in cold harbour. I think as long as you have been there before (therefore the game knows you CAN drop stuff off there) it will send you to Cold Harbour. Unfortunately you cannot get to Craglorn in that fashion by a non-VR character.

The game is supposed to limit your deliveries to the highest level zone that you can get to. As mentioned above Coldharbor deliveries will only occur once you can get there, and Craglorn once you reach Vet Ranks and can get to Craglorn.

I don't know though where they will send you in the leveling Zones. For example, Velyn Harbor is under seige when you first get there so not sure if you can get to the writ drop off until you have saved that city. You might, due to where the FG dropoff is, but I am not sure.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Hmm, I'll test this today. My main provisioner is level 38 and always gets sent to Alik'r to drop of her writs (even though she's provisioning 50 and has 6/6 recipe level passives), which I always figured was because she hadn't done the quest to gain access to Coldharbour. I'll try porting there before picking up my writ today and see if I get a writ that sends me there after I've done so.

You can port a lowbie to Coldharbor, and I have taken my cook to Coldharbor way back when the grocer there was one of the few sources for the old ingredients. However, even knowing the area, the writs stll won't be for that zone until you can get there via the Main Quest.

I just leveled a character to VR1, so I have access to Craglorn. Provisioning is level 50, 6/6. I thought I would be turning in the writ in Belkarth, but I was sent to Ali'kr. It looks like Kenarthi is right about doing the main quest to get beyond 4th zone, regardless of provisioning levels. I'll test this tomorrow, after I get my VR1 through the main quest.

edit: After completing FIVE COMPANIONS quest from Main line, my provisioning drop -off did move to Belkarth. I imagine if I had been below level 50, it would have been Cold Harbour.

You can, yes - she has beem dropping off the writ there since she was level 12, way too low to save the city. It's easy enough to avoid the level 32 mobs, she just went up the stairs from the wayshrine and then hug the wall of the fighters guild drop off point until she got to the arch entrance.

Heh, my alchemist used to have to do this dangerous trek to turn in every writ until I finally got around to leveling him and clearing the zone.
