Will there ever be an update or fix on how our characters can obtain Vampirism or Lycanthropy? (PS4)

The_1st_Dovahkiin
Hello ESO Team! :)

I have a question, that I am sure many of the ESO community has, will there ever be a better way to become a Vampire or Werewolf in the ESO world? Because honestly, the process right now, is terrible.

The chance of actually being attacked by one of these creatures and obtaining the affliction is absolutely impossible, due to the CONSTANT spawn killing of them by other players. Every night I try to go to the various spawn areas of the Blood Fiends to obtain Vampirism, there is LITERALLY 50-60 people in EACH spawn. And as soon as a blood fiend appears, he is instantly dead. This happens every single night and the game has only been out for a little over a week on consoles!

And trying to obtain either disease from another player is almost certainly going to get you scammed. There are people CONSTANTLY offering bites for gold, and as soon as a player agrees and hands the gold over, the player offering the bite takes off and runs, leaving the poor person like me without my hard earned gold, and STILL no bite. That or they either sell the bite for a REDICULOUS amount of gold, saw one player last night selling it for 50,000 gold!!!!! And as for the other players offering free bites to people to help them out, I commend you and thank you greatly, and hope I can meet you in the game :)

There has to be a better way to do this. Can't you make it like Skyrim where you can obtain both diseases through a quest line? That way it actually guarantees players a way to obtain it and look forward to it?

One of my most favorite things about past Elder Scrolls games has been the ability to play as a vampire or werewolf, I absolutely love it (as I am sure many players do) Without being able to get either one of these, I feel as I am missing out on the game, and I am just not having that much fun. If an easier option to obtain these diseases does not become available, I will most likely stop playing this game (Yes, I really am that much of a nerd for Vampires and Werewolves).

Please ESO team, for me and the thousands of other players going through the same struggles as me, please make a fix on how to obtain these afflictions. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this :)

-Josh

There are many people who will happily give away bites for free.

Let the *** killing the spawns (so they can extort other players for bites) sit there all by themselves. Or better yet, *** them off by giving away free bites once you are infected.

    It will become better later.
When this game launched on PC and vampires actually were increadibly op we had about the same situation but now you'll most likely get a bite for free as there are many people who can bite you.

btw. tell the people that they have to get hit by the npc to get infected not kill it. That way all 50 people could get infected by the same npc.

You guys need to just wait. You have it a lot better than PC players had it. We had no one to transfer over and give us bites. All we had were the few that were lucky enough to get bit and then everyone that just camped spawns and killed them. The game hasn't been out a week and I know I've given out 7 WW/Vamp bites and I'm seeing tons of them around. Give it a month. You don't need either to survive. Either pay the gold or quietly wait for your turn. You'll get it eventually. If you're on xbox I'll personally give you a vamp bite in a few days when my timer is up. Gamertag - Dusty24

Stop complaining this is NOT an issue. Being a Vamp or WW should not be EASY! Going down those routes should be a hard path and something hard to obtain.

Again I think there needs to be a rework of the system where NPCs attack these players for being a Vamp or WW and there is a much longer cool down on your timer for the NPC knowing you are one of these species. This timer would be like the justice system one except would track when NPC see you use a Vamp/WW special ability.

Give it some time. The same nonsense happened on the PC side.

People proclaiming "I R DawnBreaKer" and such, in efforts up the cost of purchasing bites.

Fortunately, the market eventually makes it less viable for them to be so 'devout,' and you can aquire it in the normal fashion.

Also, as SirAndy said, many will give bites away for free, Vamp guilds especially.

The absolute best thing you can do is not cave in and pay their price. It's called a gift for a reason, but there are those that would sell their own soul for some coin, if they had one, that is.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...

The spawn killers are already vampires. They kill the blood fiends to reduce competition and keep bite prices artificially high. It will get better in time as more and more people manage to get infected, both reducing demand and increasing supply. But, yeah, it will be a major pain for a while.

Finish the main quest and go to Cadwell's Silver and search for the Bloodfiends/WW in the 5th Silver zone. Or if you want to really have them to yourself, finish the Silver quest and go to the 5th zone in Gold.

To the OP.... Just by being a vamp will make the game fun?
Also, in oblivion vampirism was awful!

Not sure how it is in this game, but from my previous ES experiences, i in no way, shape or form want to be a vamp as becoming on in the offline titles RUINED my experience.

Indeed, ZOS should sell individual afflictions for $10 in cash shop or Premium Sick Pack of both for $15.

while that seems like a clever idea to make scam money from people.. they would usually end up getting banned for killstealing or misconduct

Nothing needs to be changed as far as how you become a vampire or werewolf. If someone scams you for gold without giving you a bite, report them. If someone tries to get you to pay real money for a bite, report them.

The game has only been out on console for a little over a week. You don't need to get vampirism this early. You don't need to get it at all. Heck, if you're below the level you're intended to be able to become a vampire (38+) you're going to find that for a long time while you're leveling the skill line your vampirism gives you a ton of disadvantages, and no real advantages.

Give it a month or two and it'll be easy to get. The market will have slipped out of the control of the spawn-campers. And remember: the more you report the scammers the faster this will happen.

I had no clue about that, thanks a ton man! :)

Yeah, I found that out when a friend got infected in Reaper's March while doing Gold quests.

My main character got infected with vampirism when she was questing to the Rift. I had no intention of making her a vamp, so I cured her right away.

For one of my alts, I figured I'd make her a WW and I spent about 3 weeks running between the Rift and Bangkorai every time I was playing and it was night time till I finally found a WW spawn (the bloodfiends were far more common).

I could have asked guildies to bite me, but I found it far more fun to do it this way.

Yeah you are right, I think I am just being too impatient and should focus on the rest of the game right now, thanks for the insight man, and thank you very much for the offer on the Vampire bite, unfortunately I am on PS4 :(

And to everyone else- I think you guys are right. I think I am just being too impatient at the moment and should focus on the rest of the game. Maybe I might get lucky and find a vampire guild down the road (for some reason I am having a difficult time finding them right now) But regardless, maybe I will just back off of it and wait on it. Thank you for the comments and insight guys!
