The enchanter writ I'm trying to fill asks for 1 Jode Potency Rune. I have 3 but they do not register in the quest.

Hm, that's odd. Have you submitted a bug for it?

    When/where did you get them?

I'm not sure if this will work for you.. but when writs were first released we had this issue..

Try splitting the stack so you have just a stack of 1 of the Jode potency rune in your inventory. As well, make sure it's in your inventory and not in the bank (when you go to a crafting table it shows you all the materials you have in your inventory plus what you have in the bank)

Are they in the Bank or on your character?

You can use them to make things if they are in the bank, but you have to have them on your character in order to turn them in for a writ.

Thanks, MissBizz. As soon as I removed them from the bank the request in the writ registered.

Your welcome. What is frustrating about these is for more than one writ I had the Rune in question in my inventory, like the Ta, but I go to make the Glyph and it uses up the one Ta I had. Go to drop it off, and no Rune. Grrrr.

So, if you store things in the bank and withdraw for writs, do so after you make the items. This goes for Alchemy writs too. Provisioning and the Equipment writs do not have this issue as you only turn in finished goods.

The writs that require you to "have" certain item do not register it just when its in your inventory. To be precise, they register the moment the amount of that item in your inventory increases by one.

So that item can be obtained by any mean that makes it appear in your inventory or increase by one like:
    - personal bank withdraw,
    - guild store purchase,
    - trading with player
    - finding item in world map

Used to be this way.. definitely not for all the writs now. I regularly do provisioning writs by taking the writ off the board, and then being told to go hand it in.. because I already had the necessary items in my bag ;)

    Same happens for alchemy.

Also happens with equipment.. but.. a lot less often because I don't make multiple of something needed for writs (since I actually make 4 of potions/food/drinks due to passives)

If that's what you're experiencing it's a bug. For certain writs I always keep the items I know it will ask for in my inventory, and as soon as I pick up the writ from the board it immediately registers that my next step is to go to the dropoff site.
