✭✭✭✭✭How I finally figured it out was watching the bobbin. When it went under water, I reeled in the line. There might be some timing beyond that as to how long it is under water, but I for the most part, I would reel in when I saw the bobbin drop. Get it right and you will reel in a fish almost every time.
Also, if you get back Used Bait, remove that by taking it, then apply new bait, otherwise all you get is used bait back.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I have fished on PS4, and yes, pull the rod in when your controller vibrates (or you'll see your toon now fighting against a fish - rod moving up and down and whatnot) The above guide should help you with choosing the proper bait. The guide was made on PC, but all the same things apply, just a different button
