TOP END GEAR
Hello All,
Is it essential to lv crafting to be able obtain top end gear, at endgame/ vet ranks?
I am currently only lv 12 but played this game on release on PC and got to Vet5 as a healer (was a long time ago, have forgotten most stuff). However my friend who also played, crafted all my gear for me.
I ask because on all MMO I play I have never enjoyed crafting, it just isn't my cup of tea.
However I do enjoy competitive PVE and I want to have good gear.
Can you obtain the top end gear sets without crafting them, if so how? On most MMO I have they drop form dungeons/raids or once top lv you purchase them with some form of currency, is it the same?
I would very much appreciate your help.

symonator✭✭✭I think you can get some gear from the undaunted box dailies.
Drops in dungeons.
That's all i know.
The rest i think for specfic stats like hist bark for most tanks, needs to be crafted etc,

It all depends on your build. End Game players use a range from all crafted to all dropped sets to a mix of the two. I think most people use some crafted even if they prefer dropped sets. Another thing about dropped sets, getting all 5 pieces is not easy. Getting all the pieces for 2 and 3 piece groups you want can be quite difficult. Also, most Dropped set items have traits that are not all that useful end game (Exploration, Well Fitted, Sturdy).
So, either you need to craft or you need to know a crafter or be in a guild where you can find them. And Pay them. Its not cheap to make and improve a set of gear. Figure on about 20,000 gold for just the improvement tempers for each piece to take it to Gold. If you want Nirn, add another 25,000 or so to the price. Then the price you pay to get it made in the first place.
Now, crafting is easy to level if you just decon the loot you get as you go along. The levels will take care of themselves.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
