Just a public service announcement...

Several large trade guilds have taken to cornering the market and driving up prices on the new Psijic Ambrosia XP drinks in some rather unscrupulous ways. The most disturbing is the organized faction-hoping sabotage of PVP campaigns to eliminate all buffs so that no one without ESO+ has ANY XP buff. This allows them to jack up prices to ridiculous levels (30k+ for ONE drink, 1-3 MILLION for the recipe) and desperate, instant-gratification types WILL pay it!

They are also designating a guild provisioner to give all the recipe fragments to in order to have their guild be the first with the item available. That doesn't bother me so much as the organized PVP sabotage.

I work hard for my buffs, to have a bunch of gold farmers come in with their organized faction hopping and screw it up just so they can rip off some desperate gullible scrubs. Shame on you all!

I would sincerely recommend NOT buying any of this rapaciously priced BS for at least the first week. The prices will be down to less than 1/4 their current rate.

Not sure calling people who buy this "gullible scrubs" is a great way to argue against it.

This was an entirely predictable development, it's how MMOs work, you seem to be like me and look top making yourself self-sufficient so I'm not entirely sure what your complaint is when it comes to 'market cornering'.

I don't understand your PVP complaint, llikely 'cos I don't PVP but again, it's an MMO, that's what happens in PVP and I don't really see what you're asking ZOS to do about it.

I'm not sure if your conspiracy theory is accurate or not, but I would suggest, as you do, not to buy the potions until demand has died down. Then again if you have millions . . . why not

I run with a few of the more established guilds in EU and there are a couple of people who are selling the Recipe Frags at 250k a piece.

There's one person in those Guilds who is pushing the bottles at a LOT more than 30k. And seeing as the Roe is going for over 45k a single item in the EU Server, it's not a ridiculous price really.

As for PVP - people are taking advantage/actioning right now due to the changes @ZOS_BrianWheeler announced yesterday to PVP and the points system, buffs and AP Shift.

Every new item that is released in any global market is almost always driven up (price wise) due to lack of supply and demand. Then, over a given amount of time, the price will stabilise.

And any hows, all PVP campaigns are being reset on the next update and all Emperors are loosing their "Legacy Emperor bonus"... *shrugs*

You really should be blaming the developers and not the players. This situation was created by their design choice, which is a choice obviously intended to convince players to use the cash shop to get their champion points faster versus obtaining a recipe that everyone knows will be essentially impossible to obtain unless you're super rich.
End the tedious inventory management game.

You do realize that all of this will stop within 2 weeks right? Once enough guilds with kiosks have the recipes then the market will drive itself down, especially since all the trading guilds depend on master merchant to make their pricing decisions for them. Trading guilds are ran by very smart people, however their dependency on the market is what makes them weak. Without master merchant dwemer pages would probably still cost 20k each instead of the "high" 7k.

Well duh. But honestly, if someone has that much money to spend on Ambrosia, they aren't naive newcomers not knowing the price of anything; they're people who worked their assess off farming and selling stuff. I don't know what's happening in PvP, but it doesn't matter, the buffs are soon going away for good.

Yesterday when I logged on to the EU mega server at about 12 PM CET, Ambrosia was selling at 150k each. When I logged out for the night, it was down to 25-30k. I predict it'll be selling for 5k a pop by the end of next week and stabilize around 1-2k in a month or so.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. People are choosing to spend large amounts of money to gather together raw materials that they want to resell to willing people at a profit. My guild is doing the exact same thing as far as sharing parts of the recipe to help get the potions flowing earlier. That's just smart teamwork there.

There's not much you can do to hurry up the speed at which you get the different parts outside of just doing lots of writs across alts. Either join the market or don't. It's your choice, there's lots of opportunities to earn money all around.

Yesterday morning I made myself the recipy.

To do this I had to clear my bounty or almost a million and do a few provisioner writs and buy 4 recipy parts. Hardly onerous.

I think I had the entire market to myself for most of the day.

Early on potions were selling at 150k EACH. Then down to 75k then down to 45k

At one point, when I was buying up fish roe I was laughing, the people buying the roe, pushing the prices up cant use the stuff. Only I can!!!

It helped that I had previosuly failed in an attempt to get master angler, but really couldnt be bothered ot skin the 4-5000 fish i had in the bank.

Anyway, at a basic outlay of around 1.5 million I came out with about 6-7 million profit. Ive also got around 2 weeks of 50% buff potions.

None of this was done with anyones help, none of it was hard. How was this done?
    • Basic, do stuff for yourself. You can spend time to make characters that can do the crafting writs. You can spend time making cash to give yourself a float
    • Interact with humans (this is a MMORPG after all)
    • Buy and sell recipy parts (we are talking about a trade good)
    • Give stuff away to people who helped, or where just cool that I met. Towards the afternoon, once I had made my investment back, I was basically making potions for people from their raw materials for free. My aim is never to scam people. I just like the numbers getting higher.

Having done all this, all I can say is that the OP is one of the type of people I have little time for, rather than doing things for themselves, they rather slap down those doing it

Anyone who knows me on the EU EP servers knows that I am rich, but also knows that I never accept payment for crafting, and generally dont take the raw materials either.

I find the OP's post both offensive and sadly telling of what happens when the "i want it now!!" come up against "I am going to do it now"

Campains tipped because I was buying fish roe from yellows and blues and giving potions to reds.

Actually, as soon as the infos about the golden receipt were posted I began to purchase purple ingredients - but thought I had a lot more time (expected August as release date), so I failed to reach the targeted 10k+ purple items. Still sold a couple of k items within hours, for 350/500. A few hours later, prices rose to 1k. Doh. This was really easy money - following the upcoming news might have brought *you* a million coins, had you invested at the right time. No scam involved.
But I agree, those prices are way too high - *for me*, at least. For now. Receipt prices will certainly come down, that's when I will buy them.

You cannot "corner the market" for anything in this game.

That's the whole point of a guild auction house. It's impossible to do unless you coordinate with at least 8 other guilds, and good luck with that.

It is quite possible on some items (e.g. legendary mats), and doesn't even require a lot of money. But it requires a lot of time and dedication, with little benefit, as most people just won't buy overpriced stuff.

This XP booster is not REQUIRED to actually complete content. It's an XP buff, a simple convenience item, it is not a game-breaking mechanic that everyone 'must have' in order to play the game. Wait until the price comes down, which will happen soon, once the market is flooded. Besides Capitalism, it is also called, 'supply and demand'.
