Motif farming
I've looked around online a bit and mostly found old info and discussions on drop rates. Does anyone have tips on getting new motifs?

✭✭✭✭✭Check all containers in delves, and backpacks and other unowned containers in the wilds. You can also find them (and recipes) in owned containers, but you will need to get away with stealing them. Be patient and thorough in your searching, most containers will have things you aren't looking for. Gone are the days that we could loot banks with abandon /Wipes Tear.

What I think is that backpacks give the best chance, its not often you see a backpack.
I would farm urns in a dwemer ruin instead, not sure but I think dwemer motifs only found in dwemer ruins.
Maybe backpacks in dwemer ruins drop dwemer motif too.
As far as Daedric, I've never gotten that or any other of those lvl 11 and beyond.0 -

It would be great if there was a chance for blue motifs in the reward packs for low level writs, and purple motifs for doing writs on crafts you've mastered. ✭✭Most if not all containers can drop motifs (got one from a barrel in the past). That said, the highest probability is backpacks, dressers, wardrobes, desks and night stands. Urns do drop motives as well, and of course all dwemer containers.
The same type of containers also drop provisioning recipes at highest rate.
Barbaric, Primal, Ancient Elf and Daedra only drop in veteran areas, with the first two in silver area and the latter two in gold areas. Imperial can drop everywhere but chances seem to be higher in the veteran areas. Dwemer pages can only drop from dwemer containers and I guess the same is valid for the dwemer book.
To use Primal, you need either Blacksmith or Clothier or Woodworker at rank 6 (invest 5 additional skill points in the first passive of the respective craft), Barbaric requires 7, Ancient Elf 8 and Daedric 9. Imperial I don't know on top of my head but I guess it also has a minimum craft requirement. Dwemer is 9 as well.3 -
Thanks for the info everyone. I'm aging on Xbox one and mainly needed some clarification on what containers. I've been looking in barrels and chests in dungeons and all and it just got frustrating. Now I have a better idea of where to look though.0
